Responsibilities:

We are seeking a passionate Engineering Manager to join our Infrastructure Centre of Excellence (CoE). The CoE plays a critical role in driving operational excellence for our infrastructure services. In this role, you will lead and manage two key teams within the CoE: Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Infrastructure Engineering. You will be responsible for building high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and ensuring the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of 10-12 engineers across SRE and Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Together with your teams, architect, and design technically robust, flexible, and scalable solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment where all team members feel valued and empowered.
  • Work closely with other Engineering Leaders, Product Management, and business teams, and enable them by providing scalable and high-quality technology solutions at a rapid pace.
  • Set clear expectations, define goals, and provide ongoing performance feedback for your team members.
  • Coach and mentor team members to develop their technical and leadership skills.
  • Work closely with the Senior Technical Program Manager to align team goals with the overall CoE strategy.
  • Manage team workloads and ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of projects.
  • Identify and address potential roadblocks and risks to project success.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in infrastructure technologies.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire top talent for your team.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Set up best practices for development and overlook its adoption

Requirements:

  • Over 8 years of software development experience, with at least 4 years in managerial/team leadership capacity.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies, including experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP). Preferably AWS
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Hands-on technical experience with architecting and building large-scale, highly available production-level consumer applications.
  • Strong decision-making skills, metric-driven operations, and ability to motivate and maximize productivity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Significant knowledge and experience with various development practices, programming languages, and technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple levels of key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
  • Passion for building a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
