Position Title: Engineering Manager Job Location: Bangalore, KA-India Job Duties As a Product Integration Engineer Manager, you will coach, guide and facilitate the development of a work group to develop collaborative relationships among themselves, as well as with customers, suppliers and other functional groups to ensure goals are achieved. You will also provide managerial and technical direction in product / process design, development or research. You will create and maintain an organizational climate / culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement / commitment and a sense of urgency towards business success. You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, develop as a strategic thinker, and deepen your professional network. Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all the following:
  • Lead work group to complete objectives in design of products, processes, components, and systems as part of NPI projects.
  • Collaborate extensively with other functional areas like Product Definition, NPI Managers, Engine teams, Business Resources, and suppliers as required.
  • Ensure all the Engineering activities on NPI are planned to achieve velocity targets.
  • Define Validation requirements and coordinate with the testing team to complete all activities as per plan.
  • Define Certification requirements and coordinate with the Compliance team to complete all activities as per plan.
  • Own the Net Plant Cost (NPC) for all the NPI programs and work aggressively with the team to meet and exceed the targets.
  • Communicate regularly on the NPI progress to stakeholders, team members, and other business units
  • Mentor and coach direct reports.
  • Success factors –Effective Communication, demonstrating excellent analytical skills and a mastery of engineering concepts. Major challenges facing incumbents are meeting design goals for cost, reliability, performance, timelines and managing multiple priorities.

Key skills and Knowledge requirement:
  • Proven technical and people leadership
  • Must be a self-starter with strong analytical skills.
  • Must be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Thorough understanding of the new product introduction (NPI) process and continuous process improvement (CPI)
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree with 12-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 10 to 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Six Sigma Blackbelt.
