About the role
- The Rippling Security team is looking for a Senior Manager of Security Engineering to lead our program\xe2\x80\x99s expansion in India and help secure Rippling\xe2\x80\x99s already large Engineering presence in Bangalore.
- With this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll support an exceptional Security Engineering team by providing technical leadership and mentorship. You will also help drive strategic outcomes by building strong partnerships with the existing engineering teams located in India.
- You\xe2\x80\x99ll help us shape our overall security engineering footprint in our India office through organization design and hiring.
- This successful leader will have exceptional engineering leadership experience coupled with a proven technical background. They will also be able to identify, measure, properly define, and resolve systemic security issues within the organization. This individual must be able to communicate and get buy-in from both technical and non-technical stakeholders, such as engineers and business leaders, through proposals.
- The security domains within the scope span application, cloud, and enterprise security.
What you will do
- Lead a multidisciplinary Security Engineering team in India; across Product Security, Infrastructure Security and Detection and Response.
- Be part of the Security Engineering leadership team that defines our technical security architecture, strategy, and roadmap. Then, design quarterly OKRs to meet those goals.
- Be responsible for driving the security culture in Bangalore, with a dotted line into Rippling\xe2\x80\x99s l India site lead.
- Provide technical leadership to our existing security engineering team, putting them and their initiatives in the best position to succeed.
- Work with your engineering counterparts to identify, measure, and develop a documented understanding of Rippling\xe2\x80\x99s systemic security issues that impact our overall risk posture.
- Pragmatically address these issues by developing executive-level proposals, getting buy in, and providing technical leadership on solution implementation.
- Develop high-quality software and tooling with attention to detail
- Minimize project risk by shipping your solutions incrementally vs large monolithic releases
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software and security engineering experience, with 5+ years as a technical lead and 5+ years as a people manager.
- Ability to attract and retain top-tier security talent.
- Experience building large-scale distributed systems, such as high-volume SaaS environments and usable security tooling
- Preferred experience in our technology stack- Python, Django, React, MongoDB, AWS
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment by identifying areas of impact and independently pursuing them
- A track record of influencing and enabling forward-thinking technology decisions across a wide organization
- Excellent ability to communicate complex technical ideas with clarity and precision in written and verbal modes
