..About the Role.. We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers building solutions that helps Uber scale globally. The leader should bring experience in multiple domains to bear on building applications at scale, and in-depth knowledge of backend technologies, frontend technologies, platforms, tools, frameworks, and best practices. By significantly contributing and shaping the vision of these teams you will help accelerate and scale the product as Uber continues to invest and grow in different markets. ..What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points.. ---- What the Candidate Will Do ---- . Directly own an engineering team passionate about learning and iterating with velocity . Challenge engineers to design innovative, highly-scalable, and robust systems . Build trust and foster a collaborative team culture . Build a strong brand and be able to attract and retain talent . Strategize and influence the product vision and roadmap in collaboration with the product and business team ---- Basic Qualifications ---- . 12+ years of relevant frontend and backend engineering experience . 6+ years managing cross-functional engineering teams and managing leaders. . A strong ability to architect and design robust, high-scale systems and to challenge engineers to think bigger and more generically in developing their solutions ---- What the Candidate Will Do ---- . A well-developed ability to grow leaders, both engineers, and managers . A strong business sense and ability to challenge and partner with product managers and business stakeholders . Excellent communication and analytical ability.
