We partner with our stakeholders to rapidly unlock value for their customers, delivering with excellence and ownership JOB PROFILE: The Senior Engineering Manager will manage and mentor highly motivated, skilled engineering teams while providing architecture, system design oversight to ensure we deliver the best possible software solutions and ensure they are generating value through cost savings or incremental value. The environment is fast-paced and time-to-market is critical to the success of our organization. This position will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to delivering applications for high-quality, on-time software releases leveraging best-of-breed Agile and DevOps practices with a focus on how to enable the operations of those applications through a combination of infrastructure solutioning, continuous delivery & integration, and efficient system sustainment planning. This position is responsible for leading technical design, development, delivery, and operation of applications while managing respective agile work-streams closely in an environment supporting multiple business lines with often competing prioritization concerns. Developing effective working relationships with various stakeholders, interacting with key business partners to identify their priorities and recommending solutions that best meet the strategic needs of the business is required. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage technical delivery of applications to Progress Residential using both in-house development teams as well as consultants on strategic projects. Responsible for End-to-end ownership of products including requirement analysis, design, coding, deployment, dev-ops and support Lead agile teams through consistent development practices, ensure development standards and consistency of specifications across sub-systems Critically analyze the requirements, designs and propose alternative solutions Continuously improve the operations, quality and agility of team Create a high-performance culture that exceeds expectations, deliver value and create impact Proposing and driving key technology decisions with senior technology leaders Hire, coach, mentor talented engineers to achieve goals in challenging environment Drive automated solutions that enable better efficiency and process improvement Support testing & deployment cycles, including working with product owners to coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and gathering feedback from pre-release testers. Ability to log, track, and manage issues, bugs, and enhancement/ features requests logged in JIRA. Capture, mitigate and /or escalate risks & issues in a timely fashion. Write and/or review deliverables, solution blueprints, and architecture documentation s. Job Requirement QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLSETS: Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or related technology subject area required. 12+ years\' experience, with at least 2-3 years as Engineering Manager. Extensive experience in the following web technologies: ReactJS, NodeJS ecosystem, Next.js, Typescript, JSON, REST, GraphQL, Microservices Good understanding of development practices and tools in DevOps, Release Engineering and Infrastructure Management (Git, BitBucket, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes etc.). Experience in developing, deploying and managing applications on AWS. Knowledge in Serverless architecture a strong plus. Prior experience in Salesforce using Sales / Service / Marketing /Experience cloud is strongly preferred Experience with NoSQL DBs including Mongo DB and DynamoDB. Experience with the entire software development lifecycle (Agile, SDLC, Iterative) with metrics-backed decisions during all phases of SDLC Drive Best Practices of Code Reviews, Design Reviews and Architecture Reviews Experience in resourcing, staffing and very strong delivery of technical solutions with a given budget Excellent organization skills and ability to effectively multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. ITIL understanding and familiarity with modern application architecture design patterns. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to communicate effectively with business owners in escalated or tense situations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Flexibility and positive attitude to achieve tight deadlines. Solid detail-oriented documentation skills. Strong balance of business and technical skills and ability to \'translate\' technical concepts clearly to non-technical decision-makers. Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities. Ability to work with a complex stakeholder group across geographical boundaries. Ability to work creatively, propose ideas and contribute to working group
