As a Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will: Lead and inspire a team of mechanical designers to meet and exceed business objectives. Drive team performance to ensure that deliverables are met on time and Ensure adherence to budget Ensure correct assignment of tasks with engineering team, define relevant performance standards and conduct regular performance evaluation for team member as per business guideline. Create work and resource plan and cost estimate for engineering work. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure team goals are aligned with Business KPI needs. Retain and hire best talents as per business need. Conceptualize new designs and enable transition to product design. Ensure engineering team to comply with all Fluence compliance needs. Foster cross-business area/segment collaboration Work in a highly dynamic and changing environment and adapt to shifting customer priorities. Mentor and coach team members in technical and personal skill development Actively demonstrate expertise in one or more skill sets from below domains. Advanced thermal & fluid systems modeling and simulation- battery combusion process modeling, gas dispersion dynamic modeling, fire dynamics, air conditioning and ventilation designs. Finite element modeling for structral anlaysis and mechanical calculations to seismic, transportation, handling & lifting requirements and other environmental load conditions (i.e. wind load, snow load, etc.) for battery enclosure systems. Safety system design- fire safety, explosion prevention, advanced deflagration method and safe venting system design. Mechanical system design- Sheet metal component, Plastics mould component, Material selection, DFMEA, DFA, DFM etc. What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence Bachelor\'s or Master\'s Degree in Mechanical engineering 15+ years of work experience 5+ years of Experience in handling medium size Team of 5-10 members Hold good experience in Enclosure system design and expertise in modular design of energy storage system or similar product line. Hands on expertise in managing thermal system and hot gas path. Strong fundatmental in the one of the following area: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Tribology, Composite Materials, Fire Retardant Materials/Solutions, Energy Storage Materials, Advanced & Non-conventional Welding Processes, Renewable Energy Management Systems. Possess an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a \'whatever it takes\' attitude. Strong proficiency in smart simple design, analytical calculations, CAE tools, CAD experience using Creo, Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Strong mentoring and Coaching skill sets Excellent communication skills. Comfortable of working in a highly dynamic and changing environment and adapt to shifting customer priorities.
