The Head of Business Continuity Management is a key leadership role for us and is responsible for designing continuity of our business operations and how our Technology Transformation (TT) organization will recover in the case of a large-scale event.

This scope of this role is huge and will be directly lead Business Continuity critical initiatives and programs across Novartis TT and ensure they are completed on time and budget. As a direct result of actions and success in this role, our patients will get their life saving medicines even when Novartis is impacted by a major disaster. Internal customers and business leaders will know what their Key Business Processes are and how they are made resilient by technology and processes. We are seeking someone who is passionate about having a laser focus on resilience to drive these outcomes.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement and ensure adherence of existing Novartis BC guidelines, governance, standards, tools and operating processes across CTS TT
  • Ensure TT Service Continuity Plans (TTSCP) and strategies aligned with business priorities are created and test according to the defined controls.
  • Integrate BCP into CTS TT risk management process to develop specific BC scenarios to respond to major disruptions.
  • Establish communication protocols/tools and response plans for and beyond CTS TT for major incident/disaster handling.
  • Understand Business Units requirements, aligns strategy to scope of critical TT BC initiatives, and drive measurable results aligned with TT process and solution standards
  • Lead major BC program TT activities, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and integrity of the information, while providing consistency in content and deployment standards all aligned with Novartis BC priorities.
  • Influence overall business continuity strategy & decisions within Novartis and key stakeholders and proactively recommend adjustments to align with overall NVS BC strategy guideline and TT BCM processes.
  • Lead TT BC Resumption services to enable the prioritized Novartis Key Business Process to operate even during a catastrophic loss of TT and represent TT and Lead major crisis for TT to reduce the impact.
Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Masters level professional qualification from a Business, IT or Engineering related discipline. Fluency in written and spoken English required.
  • 8+ years professional experience in Business Continuity Management or Corporate Resilience or related field
  • Impeccable communication and stakeholder management skills with comfort engaging with the most senior levels of the business and the Executive Committee Novartis (ECN)
  • Prior experience of leading organisational and change management at scale in complex matrix environments and through globally dispersed teams
  • Solid prior experience of leading large, diverse and multi-functional teams
  • Prior exposure working in the Pharmaceutical industry is a bonus
