About the department

We are currently 180+ colleagues in Trial Data Management - across Denmark, India, and North America, delivering to the wide Novo Nordisk Development pipeline. The Clinical Data Science (CDS), Global Business Services (GBS) Trial Data Management department, Bangalore has a total of 85 clinical trial data managers with a good blend of experience and fresh perspective. The main objective of the department is to ensure high quality trial data management support and activities include input to protocols, responsibility for data collections instruments, e.g., eCRF, patient diaries, wearables and others, handling and cleaning of data through the lifecycle of a trial, data sets for external data monitoring committees and submissions, participation in regulatory inspections, managing risks and issues and effectively communicating relevant statuses to stakeholders. The department is also responsible for securing GCP, GDPR as well as regulatory compliance in processing of global clinical trial data and application of global data standards. The department works closely together with global partners and are part of global project teams.

The position

As our new department head, you will be responsible for all trial data management deliverables and activities related to the studies where the point of contact clinical trial data management role is assigned to CDS GBS Trial Data Management. You will need to build relations and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the Novo Nordisk value chain.

You will have six managers reporting to you, each responsible for a clinical trial data management team. You will be growing the team and increasing their responsibilities, attracting, and retaining talent, supporting career growth and progression, and maintaining and driving a positive, challenging, and inspiring working climate. We expect you to effectively drive and support transformational change in a local and global capacity and to keep up with industry trends and progress in the Trial Data Management area. Furthermore, you will be defining and driving the global strategy for CDS GBS Trial Data Management in close coordination with the VP of Trial Data Management.

You will be a member of the CDS GBS management team, and jointly together with other department heads and the VP of CDS GBS be responsible and accountable for driving the strategic direction for CDS GBS. Further, you will be an active participant of the global Trial Data Management team.

Experience

• You hold a Bachelor or MSc degree - within life science, computer science, data science, pharma, or similar.
• Extensive experience in data management or clinical development, including work experience from the pharmaceutical industry.
• Extensive experience in project or line management preferably within pharma.
• Proven track record in setting direction and creating business results with organisational impact.
• Profound experience with working in international and diverse professional teams
• Sound understanding of clinical systems, tools and processes.
