Detailed description:

• Support cross functional teams with Component Engineering deliverable like Part creation, SCR Risk Assessment, PPAP Reliability review, etc.
• Support Engineering & Supply Chain Teams on alternate components for Product Development needs, Part Shortage, Multi sourcing, Purchasing strategies, etc.
• Analyze Product Bill of Materials (BOMs) for Cost optimization opportunities, Part Lifecycle Risks, Part Leadtime risks, multi-sourcing opportunities, etc.
• Provide complete BOM optimization solution through better alternate Component solution for all Forward Model and Pursuit BOMs
• Be accountable for Design for Sourcing (DFS) initiative and manage the DFS initiative through effective cross functional collaboration
• Drive Part Standardization and Part re-use initiatives for better long-term risk-free Products
• Interact with Semiconductor houses and bring-in Technological advancement in Components to Visteon Products
• ISO/TS 16949 alignment

Component Engineering Competencies

• Strong Technical expertise of all Standard & Advanced Electronic & Electro-Mechanical Components
• Specialization on Automotive grade Components, AECQ Requirements, PPAP-Reliability review, etc.
• Strong understanding of Component Life Cycle Status and related business impacts and risk mitigations
• Ability to understand Application requirements and suggest suitable Component solutions
• Strong Analog and Digital Hardware Engineering background to understand the application and circuit needs.
• Ability to suggest better/optimized component solution with a details Specification comparison study
• Knowledge on broader Component Engineering process and Component Change Management process
• Thorough working experience of Component Engineering Tools like PDM, PLM, etc.

Value Engineering and Design for Sourcing Competencies

• Value Assessment and Value Engineering (VAVE) Proficiency with prior work experience
• Refer and understand design documents Bill of Materials, Schematics, etc.
• Ability to assess & analyze Product Bill of Materials in terms Component Value assessment
• Broader understanding of Const effective Components and Component Manufacturers
• Ability to assess risks in terms of Part Lifecycle, Long Lead-time, Single-source, etc. and propose suitable risk mitigation solutions
• Proficient in using third-party tool in assessing current/upcoming lifecycle and other risk associated with Components
• Ability to collaborate and interact with cross functional teams like Engineering, Supply-Chain, etc. to accomplish objectives

Education, Experience and Other Skills

• Sr.Component Engineer: 8-10 years professional experience in Component Engineering with good Hardware Product Design/Development background
• Bachelor Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
• Experience in working with remote/global teams
• Experience of Product Development process and Product Lifecycle Management
• Strong MS Office proficiency, specifically on MS Excel & its advance skills like Macros/automations
• Strong Business communication skills – Verbal/Written/Presentation
• Design to Cost, Design to Lifecycle and Design to Quality type of experience
• Knowledge on Component Costing and RFQ process
• Project Management basics
• Effective Time and task management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Flexibility in working hours to interact with a global team
