The Head of GDD IT Data will support GDD IT business strategy by

• Develop and own the GDD Data and tools strategy (3year plan), aligning timing and goals with platform and architecture peers to ensure business goals are met
• Engage with the Strategy & Growth organization to ensure proper planning and alignment for GDD IT data and tools
• Run the integrated data team for GDD IT accountable for governance, usability, efficiency, and quality of GDD data

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to
Head of Data for GDD IT will have a team (15+) of data specialist and will work very closely with the GDD IT LT and is accountable for the following:

• Establish GDD Data and governance strategy (3 year roadmap to align with business needs)
• Identify and select global data tools that will support GDD IT Business Strategy
• Work closely with ISRM regarding data governance and best practice for GDD data.Mitigates risk and ensures data availability, useability and quality across GDD
• Looks for innovative ways to reduce cost through simplification of data across GDD capabilities
• Brings a cross capability perspective to GDD data strategy & tools
• Establish technology partnership with key partners that will drive co-innovation within Novartis in China
• Implement and support in the creation of an industry leading centralized data science framework, develops overall strategy and roadmap to create products pertaining to various business domains in keeping with overall data and digital strategy of GDD.
• Define standards and processes to manage quality, consistency, usability, security, and availability of data throughout the data lifecycle

Minimum requirements

Minimum requirements:
Experience

• 15+ years of relevant experience in Pharma/Healthcare Data Analytics/Data Science desirable.
• Experience in Global leadership role. Track- record of delivering Global
• solutions at scale.
• Track record of dealing with senior stakeholders.

Education & Qualification

• Masters in a quantitative discipline, Ph.D. highly preferred
• (e.g. Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, bioinformatics, epidemiology and Statistics; can also consider Operations Research, Industrial Engineering,
• Decision Science, Quantitative Research, Econometrics, Computational Physics/Chemistry/Biology) and other relevant qualifications.
• Professional certification in data management (e.g., CDMP, DAMA-DMBOK) preferred
• Recognized internally and internationally externally by key stakeholders; in-depth understanding of external environment and trends;
• Develops a strong professional network

Skills & Knowledge

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) bridging scientific and business needs.
• Ability to influence and negotiate with senior leadership.
