Job Description

Who You\'ll Work With

You\xe2\x80\x99ll work in our Gurgaon office as part of our Client Capabilities Network, focused on agriculture topics. Colleagues in our global Client Capabilities Network deliver distinctive client impact through assets and expertise and are driven by a culture of innovation.

The Agriculture team is part of McKinsey\xe2\x80\x99s Global Chemicals & Agriculture Practice and serves clients across the broad spectrum of agricultural value chains from e.g. agricultural inputs, crops, livestock to primary processing. You will work closely with our global Chemicals & Agriculture knowledge network team consisting of ~20 colleagues worldwide. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues in our Agriculture Solutions, which focuses on big data, spatial analytics and agriculture IOT.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll have the opportunity to develop industry knowledge and expertise within agriculture working alongside industry experts. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also collaborate with the global agriculture research team to build and share knowledge, best practices, and new ideas.

What You\'ll Do

We advise clients across the agricultural value chain on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:

Investment opportunity identification \xe2\x80\x93 We have created a unique perspective on value-creation pools and investment opportunities in food and agriculture. We bring this perspective to our work with private-equity groups and financial investors and to our work supporting industry players as they plan for strategic growth.

Raw-materials management \xe2\x80\x93 We help consumer-packaged-goods and processing companies improve performance within their raw-agricultural-materials procurement and risk-management functions.

Farm operations improvement \xe2\x80\x93 Increasingly, we are developing approaches that help farm operators and land-holding management companies drive operational improvements.

Fresh-food supply chain management \xe2\x80\x93 We use an end-to-end perspective on supply-chain management to help our clients reduce shrinkage and optimize the quality and cost of their fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats.

Rural development \xe2\x80\x93 We help national governments and development partners in emerging economies develop their agriculture sectors, and we work with donor agencies and foundations that support rural agriculture.

You will support our consultants and clients in the agriculture industry by collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and synthesizing information that helps solve specific business problems within agriculture.

You will be a thought-partner to client teams and clients. You\xe2\x80\x99ll identify the data, information, and analysis that will support problem-solving efforts and you\xe2\x80\x99ll conduct timely, cost-effective research. You\xe2\x80\x99ll synthesize findings by preparing McKinsey-formatted end-products including written memos, numerical analysis, and presentations. You will codify knowledge and help support the continuous improvement of our knowledge operations and infrastructure, innovating firm knowledge and knowledge delivery through special projects.

As you progress in the firm, there are many opportunities to not only grow within the Client Capabilities Network/Agriculture practice, but also within the firm based on your focus and personal interest/priorities.
