The Private Bank (PB) within Global Wealth Management (GWM) assists high-net-worth individuals in managing their wealth, by advising them on how best to configure their assets for maximum benefit, and by providing financial services to achieve specific goals. GWM draws on the expertise of product specialists throughout JP Morgan, and coordinates the delivery of JPMorgan services furnished to private clients, so that they complement each other and are presented to (and reported to) the client in an integrated fashion.

We are seeking a Sybase DBA to be part of our team in Bangalore, India. This individual will be expected to define and execute the on-going technical strategy for migrating existing Sybase database systems to strategic target database. The candidate should have deep understanding of database technology and experience/knowledge of high performance relational data bases.

They are expected to oversee the Sybase environment, and Work with application development teams to provide advanced troubleshooting support, performance and tuning, guidance, and best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Proven experience in SAP ASE (Sybase) Database Administration.
• Writing Complex SQL queries, stored procedures, scheduled jobs.
• Troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues. And be able to detect & resolve issues related to CPU and memory.
• Driving migration initiatives and delivery of key programs of work across Database Engineering.
• Identify operational and infrastructure risks within the environment and work with the application development team to make corrections and mitigate risks.
• Interface with external vendors in troubleshooting complex, cross-platform issues.
• Process database change requests, including the creation and modification of databases, tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, jobs, in accordance with change control policies
• Develop and administer backup and recovery procedures.
• Proactively conduct research and make recommendations on future systems upgrades, including database adjustments and optimizations, new products, services, protocols, development efforts.
• Experience handling data sets understanding data models in the applications and basic ETL processes.
• Sybase Replication Server setup & troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience working as Sybase DBA supporting Sybase ASE 12.5, 15.0, and 15.7
• Highly proficient in writing SQL queries, and stored procedures etc.
• Unix shell scripting, Python and Autosys.
• Solid understanding of CICD concepts and tools like Jenkins , Maven.
• Familiarity with JIRA / Git / ServiceNow.
• Cloud fundamentals.
• Excellent analytic and problem solving skills.
• Good communication skills; written and oral.
• Bachelor\'s Degree in a related subject (Computer Science or Engineering).
