We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Senior Manager in GPB&W, working with a very knowledgeable, innovative and dynamic global team. Your initiative and creativity will be key to develop and drive our business forward. We are an agile team, in which you will have a very direct impact. The Opportunity: The role holder will support across all performance, strategic cost, headcount and financial topics. The role holder enables an efficient, consistent model to manage performance topics, costs & headcount and ensure cost efficiency across GPB&W. This includes direct and indirect cost management and managing specific initiatives that improve the performance and efficiency of GPB&W. The role requires close coordination with all GPB&W business functions, regions, Finance as well as WPB COO/Finance and DBS/Global Function teams. The role holder will lead the team based in India Key accountabilities are: Drive the strategic agenda for GPB&W COO and Digital Transformation through effective management of costs and headcount. Support on GPB&W performance and cost strategic agendas (Front office productivity analysis, FTE Envelope, Cost Management Unit (CMU) etc.) Ensure a consistent model for workforce and third party management across GPB&W ensuring aligned single source of truth datasets for cost, headcount etc. Improve cost transparency and translate into tangible cost and efficiency actions aligned to GPB&W strategy Maximize the efficiency and accuracy of the forecasting and tracking of business performance across GPB&W (Revenue, Direct Cost, Indirect Cost, FTEs) Support periodic review on all direct and indirect costs reviews (deep dive of People cost, Third party cost, Functional cost, volume metric analysis, operational performance etc.) Drive GPB&W cost allocation methodology and recharge mechanism proposal and provide transparency to Business Functions and Region/Booking centre Support on cost, headcount and finance matters in partnership with WPB COO, WPB Finance and GPB&W Finance teams. What you\'ll do: Customers / Stakeholders Strategy, Finance and HR Teams Leadership & Teamwork Set expectations, share best practice and manage, monitor, coach and develop team members to ensure that they maximize their performance, meet the required standards, and continuously develop their capabilities and experience Lead and drive key initiatives with a future focused approach to our goals and deliverables Foster positive and professional working relationships with others throughout GPB&W as well as other functions Maintain and develop positive, collaborative and professional working relationships with Business colleagues at Local, Regional and adopt a joined up approach Support and encourage constructive cross-country teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action Membership of relevant GPB&W Management as well as other related forums. Operational Effectiveness & Control Drive definition and adoption of best practice by collaborating with GPB&W key business partners Ensure a consistent application of solutions across GPB&W entities and ensure there is an appropriate read-across to other entities when issues arise Ensure timely escalation of all delays/challenges and proactively look for resolution to minimize any negative impact. Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements) Place the customer at the center of the GPB&W business, ensuring fair client outcomes, both personally and as an organization Display and adopt behaviors that form part of the HSBC values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required actions The role holder must be able to work through change in a safe and structured way in order to drive a risk management culture Track the resolution of subsequent risk management actions as appropriate Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, and procedures that apply to GPB&W Adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures, including issues raised by external regulators. Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: Educated to graduate level (or equivalent level of experience) Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities Knowledge of GPB&W - functionally, operationally and financially Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and experience in preparing / delivering content for ExCo, OPCO, COO, Product Leadership team. Collaborative nature, able to build effective relationships with multiple stakeholders and peers internally across multiple functions and business lines and effectively influence to achieve results High-energy, detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment. High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities Excellent organizational skills, flexible and adaptable nature to manage a multi-faced role with changing priorities and assignments that are complex, unpredictable and time-sensitive Extensive experience in Finance and understanding of best-in-class cost and finance management processes Experience working on cross-border assignments, large and geographically dispersed projects and project teams Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues Proficient in dealing with senior and executive sponsors and prioritizing competing demands on teams\' time What additional skills will be good to have The role holder is expected to provide assistance, solutions and recommendations, and from time to time make decisions appropriate to their areas of responsibility. Critical thinking, analysis and working openly and collaboratively with their line management and with key stakeholder teams at regional and country level is required.
