About this role

Key focus on delivering commercial technical delivery outcomes whilst creating a culture of continuous development that nurtures a world class Technical Delivery Organisation. The purpose of this role is to be accountable for multiple small to medium sized technical deliveries, and take a leading role in transformation to embed Agile and design thinking. You'll have the following responsibilities
Accountable for ensuring the scope of delivery is understood, that the technical solution meets the business need and that plans are comprehensive and are achieved to enable the achievement of the CUSB goals
Identifies pre requisites to technical deliveries and ensure that they are delivered
Identifies Risks/issues/finances/status/resources for technical deliveries and take corrective action to resolve/mitigate where necessary
Accountable for meeting committed finance figures for the technical deliveries
Engages with clients and suppliers including internal stakeholders (regular stakeholder communications)
Ensures all delivery agents review, size and commit to the delivery & costs of the design for the technical delivery
Produces and agrees technical delivery plan and manages dependencies
Manages handover to operations and the customer
Makes recommendations for improvements to processes. Identifies and implements changes to improve quality and reduce costs
Facilitates requirements capture from the cross CFU delegates and Group Finance team in order to scope and deliver improvements to BT MFB (Making Finance Brilliant) Programme in subsequent phases.
Recommends course of action to the Business requester, based on Inputs from the architect, designer, Quality Assurance, Application Support Groups and component leads
Performs actions following Decision approval from the Business, to deliver the agreed solution.

To manage a workstack of approx 20 small or 2 medium projects annually, total value 300k- 400k

You'll have the following skills & experience

Knowledge of BT Technical delivery process and BT C2M Concept to Market
Strong Technical Project Control with financial acumen, risk and Issue management
Excellent communication skills- able to work across a number of projects both inside and outside your team, presenting to senior leaders and stakeholders across BT, with ability to build rapport and influence
Good problem solver - drive to overcome obstacles and deliver innovative solutions.
Excellent stakeholder management skills required to engage with CFU leads pan BT and drive through innovative solutions to support technical and process changes.

Excellent communication skills required to provide accurate and timely weekly reports and ad hoc escalations to management team, presentations to wider team for knowledge transfer

Ability to understand the technical solution being delivered - Ability to learn about new technologies in line with Digitals strategy and vision.
Ability to negotiate with vendors on technical approach, for best cost and performance with strategic architectural fit.
to lead a team of designers, developers and quality assurance testers (4 dotted direct reports)
