The Role Responsibilities

Job Role

The purpose of the role is to,

  • Meet the business objectives initiated by the respective country Business Clients business
  • Customer focused need-based selling
  • Deepen customer relationship and maximize penetration
Strategy
  • Drive the right sales culture and attitude.
  • Operational quality - manage sales controllable error, rejection, approval rate, TAT, etc.
  • Continuous sales improvement effort, through active engagement with Product, Credit and Operations.
  • Manage customer experience and NIL Customer Complaints.
Business
  • Achieve Business Loans sales target.
  • Achieve team sales target and increase sales productivity.
  • Segment focus, customer focus needs-based selling.
  • Achieve segment relationship penetration, multi-product selling or bundles around anchor product.
  • Arrange / create sales activities.
  • Build and manage relationship with business partners / intermediaries / channels.
  • Focus has to be on acquiring new customer relationship along HVS segments for both Assets and Liabilities.
Processes
  • Ensure CDD, MLP and TCF diligence.
  • Zero tolerance - Fraud, Mis-selling.
  • Discipline in HR and training related matters.
  • Adhere to all policies, guidelines and procedures, comply with local regulatory requirements, reflect best practices.
  • Adhere to operational risk controls and procedures in day to day sales management.
  • To ensure no adverse findings in internal / external audit, governance and compliance review.
  • To comply with all applicable money laundering prevention procedures and, in particular, report any suspicious activity to the Unit Money Laundering Prevention Officer and line manager.
People and Talent
  • Lead and manage a team of 8 to 9 BDM\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • The Right Coach.
  • Engage every team member and build strong team work.
  • Effective performance / scorecard / vintage mix management within budget, discipline in performance management.
  • Identify and groom potential sales leaders.
  • Upgrade people management skill constantly.
  • Manage Attrition of Sales force.
Governance
  • Ensure sales team has the right culture and attitude.
  • Operational quality - manage sales controllable error, rejection, approval rate, TAT, etc.
  • Engage relevant stakeholders for smooth approval and customer on-boarding experience.
  • Manage customer experience.
  • Ensure nil Customer complaints.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment].
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association.
Other Responsibilities
  • Lead and engage team of Senior Business Development Executive / Business Development Executive (who are self sourcing).
  • Proactive performance / scorecard management - motivation and retention of talent.
  • Train and Coach the team.
  • Upgrade people management skill constantly.
  • Manage Attrition.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Must be a graduate. MBA\xe2\x80\x99s would be an advantage.
  • Sales experience of at-least 2 - 3 years in Home Loans / LAP and CASA; of which 1 year must have been in managing a direct sales team will be preferred.
  • Should possess strong people management and leadership skills to manage approx 10-20 sales people.
  • Good knowledge of the selected market and customer segments would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Strong inter-personal skills, which encourages and promotes enthusiasm and team spirit.
