Role Purpose:
This position is responsible for implementing and supporting the technology related to the connectivity and performance of networking, security, and telephony systems across the Enterprise to ensure the stable operation of IT assets and services. This includes recommending, developing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing networking telecommunications, and related technologies. The Sr. NetOps Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 LAN/WAN will require the ability to manage multiple priorities, including help desk tickets, daily tasks and projects, while working closely with other team members. It requires a person that can remain flexible and can effectively collaborate across technology teams and global business units. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diplomacy and positive attitude. As a member of the IT Infrastructure & Operations team, the role contributes to the development and execution of the I&O strategy, and ensures its alignment with the enterprise\'s IT strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.
Major Responsibilities and Activities:
Perform a wide range of network administration duties including installation, configuration, debugging, maintenance, and evaluation, testing and deployment of upgrades to the networking infrastructure (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless Access Points, VPN Gateways, etc.)
Proactive monitoring of all network devices and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and adherence to required Service Level Agreements
Shall provide remote technical support to customers during extended hour escalations.
Candidate shall be able to handle independently large projects right from low level design including project support.
Collect and review network utilization data for capacity and planning purposes.
Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans
Interface with vendors for procurement & maintenance of all network platforms
Manage & troubleshoot all network related service interruptions impacting LAN, Wi-Fi, MPLS, Internet, VPN or other connectivity types throughout the organization.
Provide 24 x 7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
Respond to assigned Service Desk tickets, ensuring timely feedback and closure.
Provide escalated support to assist the Service Desk and Systems Administrators in resolving issues.
Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all network devices, processes, and procedures
Identify, analyze, diagnose, research, and resolve technical problems for individuals and groups in an efficient manner, recognizing the proper course of action to take, communicating, and escalating severe issues as appropriate.
May be required to travel both locally and internationally.
Available to work after hours and weekends as required.
Specialized in supporting one of the Cisco architectures with a broad technical competency in supporting the following: Cisco switching & wireless, Cisco Datacenter (UCS, Nexus, NetApp & VMware) and Cisco Collaboration (CUCM, UCCX, Unity)
Expert in Fortinet Security Fabric
Expert in troubleshooting & administration of routers and switches. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting routing protocols like BGP, and OSPF. Exposure on Tunneling Protocols (IPSEC).
Performance Management & Optimization. Strong in security concepts. Troubleshooting knowledge of Firewalls, Proxy & RADIUS servers mandatory
Very Good Knowledge Switching, VLAN, Port Security, STP, Advance Switching concepts, Wireless concepts.
WAN Topologies: Calculate and apply an addressing scheme including VLSM IP addressing design to a network. Determine the appropriate classless addressing scheme using VLSM and summarization to satisfy addressing requirements in a LAN/WAN environment
Configure & Verify Firewalls, VPN, IDS, IPS, devices hardware and software operation using all commands. Strong knowledge on all functionalities of Plugs / policies / Public Private security
Routing with OSPF and BGP & Static
ACL, Route Maps, IP SLA
L3/L3 Switching \xe2\x80\x93 Hands on Experience configuring & Troubleshooting VLAN, VTP, STP
Port channel, Switchport Configurations. Cisco 9xxx Series
Cisco Wireless Networking \xe2\x80\x93 Hands on Experience on CISCO WLC and Access Points
Meraki Cloud Managed Devices \xe2\x80\x93 MX Firewall, L2 / L3 Switches and Access Points
Content Filtering, Threat Protections, AMP on Firewalls
Knowledge of VPN and Managing ASA with Firepower & FMC
Configuring and Managing Fortinet firewall stack.
Minimum qualifications, Formal Education, Certification or Equivalent:
Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in computer science, or Engineering,
CCNP Routing & Switching, CCNP Security, CCIE (Routing Switching, Voice or Security) Certification
Minimum 8 Years\xe2\x80\x99 Experience in Firewalls (Cisco ASA, ASA-X, Cisco Firepower NGFW, and Juniper)
Fortinet Security Fabric
Routers (Cisco ASR / ISR with DNA/ ISE Supported Platform)
Switches (Nexus 9k / CAT 9K ,)
In-depth knowledge on Configuration and troubleshooting skills on VPN tunnels, NAT, PAT, Failover, backup and restore.
Load balancers (F5 and Brocade)
Configuring/Troubleshooting Application protocols - HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL etc.
Services and protocols commonly used in hosting environments: web servers, database servers, mail servers, name servers.
Security technologies (IDS, WAF, RSA, IPS)
Configuring/Troubleshooting LAN Switching VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel,
Configuring/Troubleshooting TCP/IP protocol suite & in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP
Working experience on Monitoring tools
Should have Expertise level in Routing (Dynamic & Static) & Access Control list (CISCO & JUNIPER). Should have Advanced hands-on experience in Switching related issues (Port Security, STP, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, Ether channel).
Should have configuration and Admin management experience of Firewalls: Cisco-NGF, Fortinet, SDWAN.
Wireless Access Point & Wireless Controller Configuration/ installation/ troubleshooting (Meraki /Cisco) Should have decent understanding on IPS/IDS.
Work experience - Nature and Length:
8+ years of proven hands-on experience managing, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity, stability and performance issues
Proven Experience in Handling activities on core Networking (Fortinet, ASA Firewall, Cisco Meraki Cloud Managed Network Devices] Wi-Fi Solutions, IP Telephony, Video Conferencing and Unified Communication Solutions.
Proven experience designing, implementing and managing secure data and voice networks
Proven experience designing, implementing and managing IP voice networks
Knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, VLAN\xe2\x80\x99s, Ethernet, switching, firewalls, routing and routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), DNS and DHCP
