The Role Responsibilities

Job Role

The Project manager / PMO is responsible for driving a medium complexity project from initiation through closure to achieve the project objectives and benefits while navigating the project through the constraints such as scope, cost / budget and time.

The Project Manager / PMO works closely with the Program Managers, Portfolio Managers and also carries PMO responsibilities too to drive the larger transformation agenda as part of the ASPIRE programme.

Strategy

  • Good understanding of the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategy appropriate to the role.
  • Good understanding of the finance function and organizational structure and the target operating model.
  • Thorough understanding of the Bank Project / Portfolio Management framework and the key focus areas.
Business
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for Aspire and GCFO QPR.
  • Analyse financial reports and investigate variances.
  • Manage and report vendor costs by projects.
  • Manage accruals, reclass and missing timesheets by projects.
  • Resource rate card review, cost centre set ups / closures and transfers.
  • Review, track and report project recharges.
  • Resource management - consolidation of data from multiple sources.
  • Track and record resource movements, transfers, hires, exits, etc.
  • Prepare senior management dashboard for fixed capacity reporting.
  • Good knowledge of Clarity, Jira, Share Point and other bank tools.
  • Ensuring Clarity / JIRA / Confluence is up to date including Project static data, RAG status; key milestones, financials, risks, dependencies, issues and resource forecasts, and they are tracked and reported stakeholders.
Processes
  • Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a standalone project or a work-stream of ASPIRE.
  • Work with the stakeholders to identify the goals / deliverables for the portfolio.
  • Prepare and monitor the financials of the Portfolio.
  • Review Portfolio resource allocation and actual timesheet.
  • Continuously track and monitor the financials, ensure understanding of the impact of the same to stakeholders by presenting it in RF and other forums.
  • Escalate and seek intervention when needed to ensure the financials are delivered as per the baseline.
  • Ensure adherence to the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s project management framework and standards, including the standard tools such as Clarity and JIRA, etc.
  • Ensure complete control on financials checks and ensuring that the workstream is on top of these checks and exceptions. Ensure rigorous tracking of Financials exceptions and quick resolution of the same.
  • Monitor PMO financial activities and ensure all PMOs track completion of their routines on time. Create dashboard and control mechanisms to communicate regular status to the Journey PMOs.
  • Continuously work on efficiency initiatives to improve processes and simplify ways of working.
  • Excellent grip on Agile methodologies and process improvement techniques to deliver faster, simpler and better.
Risk Management
  • Take personal responsibility for understanding the risk and compliance requirements of my role. Understand and comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Groups policies, procedures and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters. Contribute to a culture in which all stakeholders feel safe to raise concerns and where risk and compliance matters are addressed, and misconduct appropriately dealt with.
Governance
  • Ensure robust and transparent programmatic controls including resource, financial, schedule and quality management, status reporting and governance \xe2\x80\x93 including use of automated tooling (Clarity).
  • Ensure interdependencies with other projects and programmes are managed effectively.
  • Ongoing management of project capitalisation ratio\xe2\x80\x99s and forecast.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Extensive experience in a project management role or PMO role.
  • Certified Project Management Professional a plus.
  • Experience in managing projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodology.
  • Resilient and able to adapt changing priorities and conflicting requirements.
  • Must have strong time management skills (including multi-tasking) and be able to prioritize and control activities and deliver results within budgetary and resource constraints.
  • Must have experience of managing project finances - forecasting, actuals, accruals, estimating.
  • Must possess excellent reporting, (written and oral) communication.
