Job Description

Job Summary: The Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the central kitchen / commissary for a busy bakery QSR chain. They will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure that all bakery products are prepared and presented to the highest quality standards, while maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in bakery production, strong culinary skills, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities: \xef\x82\xb7 Assist the Head Chef in the planning and preparation of bakery items, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other desserts \xef\x82\xb7 Oversee the production of bakery products to ensure they are prepared to the highest quality standards and delivered to customers in a timely manner \xef\x82\xb7 Manage inventory and ordering of bakery supplies and ingredients \xef\x82\xb7 Ensure that all kitchen equipment and tools are properly maintained, cleaned, and sanitized \xef\x82\xb7 Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all bakery production processes \xef\x82\xb7 Train and develop kitchen staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to produce high-quality bakery products \xef\x82\xb7 Monitor food costs and implement cost-saving measures where appropriate \xef\x82\xb7 Ensure that all kitchen staff comply with food safety regulations and health and safety standards \xef\x82\xb7 Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new menu items and specials, taking into account customer preferences and feedback \xef\x82\xb7 Assist with the development of the kitchen budget and work to meet or exceed financial targets Qualifications: \xef\x82\xb7 Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high volume bakery/ commissary/ central kitchen \xef\x82\xb7 Formal culinary training and/or a degree in Culinary Arts / BHM / or related field \xef\x82\xb7 Strong knowledge of bakery production processes and techniques \xef\x82\xb7 Experience with inventory management and cost control \xef\x82\xb7 Understanding of food safety regulations and health and safety standards \xef\x82\xb7 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house teams \xef\x82\xb7 Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment \xef\x82\xb7 Flexibility to work in shifts as required Job Type: Full-time Salary: From 91.00 per year Ability to commute/relocate:
