Senior Technical Lead / Architect / Development Manager with MS technologies experience:
About the Position: The Senior Technical Architect / Lead will oversee the architecture for XL Solutions client\xe2\x80\x99s adoption, transition, and execution of client\xe2\x80\x99s strategy for its business applications, infrastructure, and platforms. Reporting into the Senior Management in the United States, this role ensures that the team is building a cohesive, roadmap-based set of new solutions for the client environment. In addition, the leader will be a key team member that will drive the cultural, technology, and delivery transformation of the IT organization.
Responsibilities:
Provide architectural oversight across a variety of technologies, across multiple technologies, the network, and our end user computing and collaboration capabilities
In depth working knowledge of programming language
Extensive knowledge of design patterns and the ability to recognize and apply them (e.g. GOF patterns)
Good Object Relational Mapping knowledge
Good MS skills \xe2\x80\x93 design and build .NET applications and SQL
A very good general knowledge of OO and Patterns in general.
Needs to have a high-level understanding of the common frameworks in the .NET technology stack and needs to have detailed implementation experience in several of these frameworks.
Should be able to establish automated testing patterns within a project (i.e. unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing).
Working with the project manager, architect solutions that support our technology architectural principles and roadmap
Ensure the environments are architected to high quality standards that not only meet business needs and continuity, but are designed to adapt and scale in the long-term
Interface with application and data architects, ensuring a cohesive enterprise design and direction in new and updated capabilities
Effectively interface external parties, from individual contractors to consulting organizations and service providers
Identify and execute opportunities for automation, scale, and business self-service
Act as a senior knowledge and technical resource for complex issues, including those affecting production systems
Assist in forming the IT brand by building a team and solutions that establish XL Solutions IT as a career destination in the industry
Continuously improve infrastructure and platform agility, with an emphasis on more efficient merger and acquisition solutions
Reinforce the cultural principles of XL Solutions and set the leadership tone for the team
Qualifications: Ideal Functional and Business Experience
Insurance industry background
Bachelor\'s degree in discipline appropriate to assignment or an equivalent combination of education and experience (related certifications are a plus)
Deep architectural and engineering experience across multiple IT knowledge areas, including .NET framework, SQL Server, storage, network, virtualization, VDI, end-user computing, telephony, collaboration technologies, database, monitoring, DR, applications, et al
IT strategy and roadmap creation and execution experience
Direct experience with the architecture, introduction and successful adoption of scripting and automated solutions
Ability to translate vague business needs into viable and roadmap aligned solutions
Minimum 7+ years of information technology experience in roles of increasing complexity
Minimum of 3-5 years of managerial or equivalent supervisory experience [Position does not have direct reports at this time, but the possibility exists in the future]
Minimum of 5+ years of formal or informal mentoring experience
Proven track record leading technology development organizations in geographically dispersed locations
Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously. Demonstrates creativity and innovation in problem solving and applying appropriate methodologies relevant to the complexity of the challenge
Knowledge of the financial services and/or the insurance industry. Experience working in a private equity backed companies is ideal
Foundational experience in a well-managed, process oriented, financially and metric driven company . An ability to apply best-in-class methodologies to a legacy environment is crucial.
Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines and working with all facets of IT infrastructure and IT operations.
