The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Awareness and understanding of the T&I strategy and model appropriate to the role.
Business
  • Awareness and understanding of the CPBB business objectives.
Processes
  • Senior Technical Lead will have the overall responsibility for the quality of delivery in the project technically owning the system.
  • Facilitate team technical assistance on the delivery.
  • Proficient in Java based tech stack with J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Micro services, React JS(Advantage). With Postgres and Oracle DB knowledge. Platform to be familiar with RHEL and Cloud based (AWS).
  • Showcasing the problem-solving skills as to run through different vulnerability solving proficiency.
  • Ownership of overall SRE activities as well.
  • Nurturing talent in the team and across the domain.
People and Talent
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
  • Set appropriate tone and expectations from team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Work in collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
  • Require High interpersonal and Negotiation skills.
Risk Management

The ability to interpret and identify key risks issues in system and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
  • Monitor all major risk issues and concentrations. Where appropriate, direct remedial action and / or ensure adequate reporting to Risk Committees.
Governance
  • Responsible to deliver in accordance to T&I policies and ensure governance of the team\xe2\x80\x99s adherence to the same.
  • Responsible to ensure Risks and Issues are raised with appropriate action plans and remediated on time.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the CPBB T&I Client Enablement Hive Squad to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles: The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key Stakeholders
  • CPBB T&I Domain heads, Product Owner, Hive and Chapter Leads and Squad members, Country Businesses and CTM, Interface T&I teams, Process and Business owners, Cybersecurity, Risk and Compliance teams, T&I governance.
Other Responsibilities
  • Chapter Lead for Scrum Master.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation initiative owner.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant.
  • 8 - 10 years of experience with a proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects, with a minimum 5+ years of experience Technical role leading teams in a fast-paced services environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work well under pressure to manage competing demands.
  • Banking or financial experience an advantage.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Java 8 and above
  • Object Orient Programming, Functional Programming paradigms, writing reusable Java libraries, concurrency patterns in Java
  • HTTP, RESTful APIs, HTML and CSS
  • JUnit4, at least one assertion library, unit test, integration test, pen test and stress and load test, test automation, source code management and continuous integration and delivery
  • Confluence / Jira / Bitbucket or Git, CI / CD (Maven, Git, Jenkins)
  • Design and architectural patterns
  • AWS, Kubernetes, Docker
