Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. : The Engine Systems & Software team works on Embedded Control Systems for various Diesel and Dual Fuel Caterpillar Engines. These engines go into various applications such as Machines, Industrial, Locomotive, Marine and Electric Power. This position is for a System Engineer who will translate functional requirements into software technical specification and solutions, collaborate with team in the design, development of new features, enhancements for release. Job Duties Identification of System requirements, understand system integration complexity/challenges, propose solutions to support component strategy. Investigate application software issues & resolution with moving to new components or systems. Investigate the amount of software work that can be leveraged across applications when making similar changes and reviewing software work hour estimations. Establishment of software work milestones and monitoring of progress to ensure schedules are met. Identification of risks to system reliability and durability, proactively addressing issues in concept designs, and working with Simulation & Validation engineers to determine product capability. Conceive and provide practical system design applications. Identification of validation tests to address system level risks. Working with the team to ensure that project meets time, cost, and quality targets. Contribute to the planning and delivery of a project. Candidate will work across numerous domains to integrate multiple sub-systems together to deliver system functionality and performance. Qualifications: BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Electronics/Mechatronics/Automotive Engineering 7 to 11 years\' experience in Automotive Systems/Embedded Software Testing Requirements (Key Competencies): Very Good knowledge of control systems Experience of Engine software testing (preferred) and knowledge in Engine Control Systems. Experience in dSPACE HIL Tools: Control Desk, Automation Desk, or similar competitive product. Knowledge on standard control development tools Mat lab, Simulink, RTW. Experienced in Communication Protocols: CAN, J1939 Experience of Python Scripting. Highly motivated/ self-starter Excellent oral and written communication skills.
