Job Description


Position Summary with Job Responsibilities The role is responsible to integrate all the aggregates within the vehicle environment In order to meet the vehicle functionality within the specified targets and timelines Responsibilities 1. Contribution to planning - Provide inputs for developing product delivery plan along with product planning team to meet business goals as defined in BSC. - Support planning of resources (finance/headcount) for the platform to meet the product delivery timelines, quality and business case - Perform critical path activities identification, prepare plan risk mitigation and timely resolution & escalation of unresolved critical issues at the right time. - Map & review competency gaps to suggest individual develop plans for enhanced capability - Support preparation of the validation plan in consultation with COCs and PAT team to monitoring the design process - Define the prototype plan and sign off the specification with all the stakeholders (COCs, Suppliers, CAE, Proto team, Manufacturing team) in order to meet validation criteria - Formulate the CIB plan and monitor its implementation to ensure the historical issues are not repeated. Education BE Mechanical/ BE automobile, M TECH with Thermal specialization MBA Work Experience 10-12 Years Knowledge of Vehicle Systems & Engineering, Exposure to Vehicle Attributes, DFMEA, Software tool, Basic knowledge of CAE tools. Working knowledge of problem solving techniques and design optimization, Benchmarking, Warranty Analysis, Cost Reduction, Value Engineering. Knowledge of Program/Project Management, Resource estimation & budgeting, Advanced Vehicle Integration. Knowledge of all legislative standards(AIS) and new regulations.(CMVR, EEC, ECE,ADR, FMVSS etc.) Tata Motors Leadership Competencies Customer Centricity - Anticipating, understanding and focusing efforts on meeting the customer (stakeholders) needs or expectations Developing Self and Others - Recognizing continuous development is essential for success and taking steps to develop self and helping others to excel Driving Execution - Translating strategy into action and execution Leading by Example - Encouraging and following ethical standards Leading Change - Recognizing the need for change, initiating and adapting to change Motivating Self and Others - Inspiring teams and individuals Functional Competencies Tags Interface between COCs, PPM, Suppliers, technology partners and manufacturing team to align the engineering activity with the manufacturing strategy decided by the PPM functions - Facilitate DFMEA activity and its periodic review to address the CIB issues and mitigate the recurrence - Provide inputs and support concept selection based on PPG input and PAT, also built of mules/ interior bucks to support design - Review engineering process through which improvements are initiated in order to increase the quality - Escalate issues related to virtual release, RFQ RFI process and DFMEA/DVP to chief engineers and platform chief engineers mitigation plan for critical issues - Escalate to CE and Platform CE regarding aggregates which are not meeting the performance and cost targets - Coordinate between PAT group, Proto type groups and COCs in order to resolve the issue faster - Integrate Advanced Technology into new product plan and execute its implementation to achieve technical leadership 3. Nature of problems faced/ Scope of improvement opportunities - Benchmark new technologies / concepts to confirm if TML design meets WCQ and recommend actions for bridging the Gap - Guide and review Knowledge management initiatives for enriching the design manuals / lead technology groups/ contribution to IPR-s
