The Networking team at Nutanix is looking for an Senior engineering manager with a strong technical background to help build our cloud networking initiatives. Engineering managers are expected to provide technical leadership for major projects and manage a team of talented and motivated
engineers.

You will lead your team to design and deliver highly scalable networking services, including virtual networking infrastructure, firewall, load balancer, VPN, and monitoring. You will play an active role in defining product strategy, driving architectural decisions, and managing your project goals. You will be collaborating with engineering teams across the company in areas such as compute and storage orchestration, telemetry, security, user experience and user interface design, application orchestration, and infrastructure engineering. As a manager, you are expected to guide your team in developing scalable solutions that are delivered in a timely fashion

Responsibilities:

• Manage complex technical networking-related projects and teams in the areas of Networking data, control and management planes.
• Live the Agile principles and create a high performing team through them.
• Hire, mentor, and grow passionate individuals who work well in strong teams.
• Strong leader capable of motivating the very best software engineers, as well as gaining their respect.
• That rare mix of intelligence, initiative, integrity, domain knowledge, verbal agility, and diplomacy which allows you to rapidly earn the trust of astute teams and individuals across the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

• S. in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in leading networking software engineering teams
• Experience with datacenter networking technologies
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and setting technical priorities. Experience developing and deploying SDN solutions at scale
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Familiarity with development of virtualized networking services (such as firewalls, load balancers, monitoring tools)

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS, MS or PhD degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Proven technical leadership in large-scale software deployment using open-source technologies
• Familiarity with Open vSwitch (OVS), OVS DPDK, and Open Virtual Network (OVN)
• Hands-on experience with developing and delivering virtualized networking services (such as firewalls, load balancers)
