Job Description


Summary

As a member of Plant Management, ensure a safe working environment, a high level of quality in products and processes, a high level of productivity, and employee well-being by managing all internal logistics activities of the plant, end to end material flow (supplier to customer), including procurement (direct and indirect), production planning, reception of materials, their storage and supply to the different sections in the production cycle, in the right quantity and at the right time, to maximize overall plant productivity and outbound-yard and blades pick up activities. Supporting operational sales and regional planning, giving inputs to RSR meetings

Roles and Responsibilities Lead the Materials function :
  • Participate in daily production meetings, complete/resolve actions received, and flag critical issues needing support to Plant Director
  • Clear communication of KPI\xe2\x80\x99s as defined in target letter.
  • Cooperate with regional and global functions to perform and meet the functional requirements.
  • Ensure tracking and correct allocation of supply chain cost elements, analyzing, defining and implementing cost reduction initiatives liaised with Regional Regional Sourcing and Supply Chain teams (i.e. transport and customs costs, transport frames repair cost, etc).
  • Optimize logistics processes in line with LMPS materials management modules and Sourcing, Supply Chain handbooks and processes (BMS), ensuring continuous improvement and keeping up to date the knowledge and skills of the team.
  • Map processes of possible consequences of decisions, to work out the importance of individual factors,and to choose the best course of action.
  • Act as a service-minded partner to all other internal departments particularly to Production, Quality, Production Engineering, Maintenance and HSE.
  • Support Audit activities to eliminate non-compliances to the process procedures.
  • Provide people training to mature skill level and people development.
Regional Sourcing :
  • Ensure procurement of all raw materials, components, consumables, semi-manufactured products and services complying with Sourcing Procedures, supplier agreed lead times, Regional Sourcing strategy, agreements/contracts and supplier allocation.
  • Review and monitor supplier\xe2\x80\x99s performance and prices and take action if needed with Regional Sourcing.
  • Participate in supplier discussions during Supplier Selection process as needed.
Planning Management (Capacity Mgmt., S&OP, MRP, MDM):
  • Managing the Planning section of the PP&C tool (update PP&C Tool with S&OP data, improvement calls, etc).
  • Transfer S&OP data to Axapta (for OneLM: into production dates).
  • Ensure match between S&OP data and Axapta planned production oders created.
  • Ensure accurate detailed blade scheduling (Moulded blades), aligned with S&OP numbers and highlight to Sales in case of missing any needed Sales Order (MBR action).
  • Ensure accurate work orders scheduling (finished blade and components) generated as per local production plan aligned with S&OP.
  • Act as data steward and ensure relevant master data is updated timely and in accordance with defined standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure required proficiency level for master data is met among team members.
Inbound Logistics:
  • Ensure accurate ERP Materials Requirement Planning through ensuring: constant maintenance of a correct MRP set up, accurate PO dates management, accurate inventory levels and tracking and highlighting consumption deviations to PE team. Liaise with Regional Sourcing to ensure vendor and commercial terms and inputs are set up in time.
  • Run department meetings to review material availability for production and highlight supply constrains to the S&OP and plant management, identifying and implementing potential mitigation or corrective actions, using the Escalation Process when required.
  • Ensure regular monthly forecast is sent to suppliers, as per Regional Sourcing indications, with accurate monthly demand information per supplier (as per allocation).
  • Ensure procurement of all raw materials, components, consumables and semi-manufactured products at the right time, to ensure availability for production.
  • Actively manage inventory in line with cost and physical space requirements, ensuring lowest inventory levels to avoid production stoppages. Actively collaborate on regional and global initiatives related to inventory management.
  • Ensure quality on the material reception process: the review of the quality of packaging received and highlight deviations to Quality department, the accurate and timely receipt of materials into system including full documentation, and the clarification of quantity discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Ensure that raw materials and components are stored according to 5S, Quality and HSE specifications, in the most cost effective way (aligned with Global Supply Chain team), considering future variations in demand to prepare solutions in advance.
  • Ensure materials and components are supplied to production line in proper quantity, time and on the specific workshop space agreed with Production teams, ensuring cost effective utilization of resources, ensuring quality of materials is not compromised. Drive continuous improvements actions on the materials replenishment process, aligned with Global Supply Chain team.
  • Ensure all materials and components transactions and movements are controlled, performed by qualified operators and are registered accurately, and in time, into the ERP system.
  • Facilitate control of materials consumption in Production, highlighting deviations to Production and local Engineering teams for mitigation of local BOM.
  • Ensure Compliance to India Government Regulations, procedures while ensuring deployment of Special Programs for Duty Exemption and Concession benefits.
Out-Bound Logistic:
  • Run all outbound logistics operations with optimal EHS, Quality, Service and Cost levels.
  • Ensure right service level on customer pick ups\xe2\x80\xa6 manage contacts with customer logistics and ensure proper resource allocation to accomodate customer expectations. Proper communication with customer as to final confirmed plans.
  • Keep right visibility on pickup forecasts, yard occupation forecast and future additional yard needs.
  • Agree with plant management, regional management and global SCM the right yard strategy to ensure durable agreements to cover base space requirements as well as contingenncy space for fluctuations.
  • Trigger needed actions to ensure optimal yard space is available in coordination with local/regional Regional Sourcing, as per agreed yard strategy.
  • Enforce proper 5S and proper operation conditions on blade yards. Ensure that storage of blades, molds , frames and other production means are done as per LM guidelines.
  • Keep transport frames in optimal condition, ensure proper inventory control of TF by running real time TF traceability processes, execute purchases and transfers to other plants as per agreements with global Outbound organization.
  • Support end customers, operational sales and global outbound on temporary export and import arrangements of frames.
  • Ensure that -where applicable- all processes are in place to allow LM to be eligible to any import or export related tax bonification, both in inbound and outbound materials.
Required Qualifications
  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Manufacturing & Materials Planning and Execution. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • For roles in USA - Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
Desired Characteristics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience with 5 years in similar role in a large size organization (handling procurement or $100M - $150M annual spend).
