Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity for a high-energy professional to be part of Deloitte India\'s practice and learn about and support global initiatives and work directly with global, regional, and member firm leaders. This position is for Senior Manager - Financial Accounting and Reporting which is a leadership role responsible for managing end-to-end record to report processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliances policies/ procedures. This role involves managing a team collaborating with various stakeholders and optimizing the process for efficiency and effectiveness.

To achieve this, you will be expected to perform the following activities:

  • Financial Accounting and Reporting:
  • Lead period end accounting and reporting processes - intercompany transactions, fixed asset, debt/ borrowing and tax accounting; cost allocations, posting accruals, revenue recognition, tax accounting and compliance requirements, Sub GL to GL reconciliation, closing GL, TB analysis etc.
  • Ensure timely and accurate closure of books globally and its reporting to GPO\'s, BU/ Regional Finance Controllers
  • Preparation of financial statements and its timely, accurate reporting to internal/ external stakeholders
  • Ensure timely and accurate management reporting, and conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, providing insights into Client\'s financial performance
  • Analyze and report on budget variances
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting matters
  • Ensure process compliance with Client\'s internal controls, policies, and guidelines, relevant accounting standards, and other regulatory requirements
  • Ensure least disruption to business as usual for in-scope Client processes
  • Provide support to audit and other reviews
  • Develop process excellence and operational efficiency
  • Team Management:
  • Lead the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) team (including Team Leads, Managers). Ability to govern your team efficiently and understanding performance expectation, productivity, employee engagement and compliance & risk etc.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and assist in developing team members\' skills and career paths
  • Effectively run Deloitte India\'s performance management/ career development framework within the team
  • Support the management to identify, evaluate, on-board resources including training
  • Maintain high motivation levels amongst team and ensure team attrition is within industry standards
  • Ensure team is trained on client processes and desktop procedures are correctly maintained with proper version controls and client signoffs
  • Performance & Efficiency:
  • Ensure applicable Service Level Agreement (SLAs)/ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met through robust tracking, performing RCA in case of SLA misses, taking corrective actions and drive for further improvement
  • Drive transformation projects focusing on continuous improvement to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness
  • Ensure operations team in implementing process improvements
  • Responsible for achieving the productivity targets committed to client through collaboration with transformation team
  • Client Management:
  • Lead operational and governance calls/ discussion with Client and Deloitte India Leadership for their respective areas
  • Build Client relationship, drive confidence & achieve high C-sat scores
  • Transition Support
  • Strategize, oversee, and facilitate the transition of finance processes to shared services bringing specific knowledge, best practices, and experience for smooth implementation and execution
  • Work with Deloitte India Leadership in setting up the right organisation structure (people, skillsets, reporting relationships), governance framework for shared services
  • Compliance and Policies:
  • Ensure compliance with Client\'s internal controls, policies/ procedures, and relevant accounting standards
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations, accounting standards affecting financial accounting and reporting.

Skills Required

Qualifications:
  • CA/ CPA/ MBA Finance/ Master of Finance & Accounting with experience in leading financial accounting and reporting (record to report) processes for Managed Services, or similar Finance Controllership roles
  • Proficient in SAP/ S4 Hana, Oracle ERP (eBS, Fusion), Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, and ServiceNow. Knowledge of other Oracle E-Business Suite is preferable
Experience:
  • 10-14 years of experience in finance and accounting processes, finance operations, or consulting role, with at least 8-10 years in a supervisory or management role preferably in global organizations, shared services
  • Experience in leading delivery teams (50+) for large global clients
  • Experience in Construction/ Projects business, specifically around record to report is preferred
  • Experience of driving finance transformation/ business process re-engineering projects is preferred
  • Prior experience in collaborating with clients in the ANZ region is preferred
Skills and Competencies:
  • Proven leader in record to report domain with experience working in a multinational environment
  • Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant financial regulations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills. Ability to manage client discussions
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in data analysis and financial reporting, PowerPoint for creation of executive-level presentations
  • Initiative-taking approach to process improvement and innovation in financial practices
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
  • Must possess a client-service mindset and a desire to take on tough and challenging projects.
