Senior Manager - Advanced Analytics & Data Science

Responsibilities:

Lead development and execution of data driven analysis, machine learning/ deep learning method to augment the business decision making process and apply analytical concepts incorporating epidemiology / audit / patient/system dynamics/ agent-based model flow or other suitable flow based on the requirement from business within GCAF by collaborating and prioritizing work across teams (oncology, primary/ hospital specialty, vaccines, BD/ early pipeline groups)

Work in HHIAD cross-functional environment to deliver on advanced new age technology and modelling requirements

Work closely with business team to envision the analytics/simulation/ML/DL based methods to be aligned with the business requirements, ability for critical thinking, and having a systematic and logical approach to problem-solving

Actively spearhead all elements of analytics method development - concept notes & analytics design, concept user testing (UAT), presentation and solution rollout while following the transformation leaders' vision for adherence to industry benchmark MLOPs standards and technical documentation

Continuously innovate and evolve existing offering to improve performance and quality of deliverables and scope & deploy process automations

Ensure thought leadership as SME in seamless integration of emerging analytics methods with available data base structures and intuitive presentation/reporting capabilities

Coach and mentor, the team with process excellence, agile deliver, analytics, statistics, machine learning framework and help them take up complicated work streams

Thought partner in selecting appropriate technologies and capabilities, given the business requirements. Drive solutioning and technology selection for modeling requirements in collaboration with Transformation Lead based out of US.

Communicate effectively across stakeholders, and proactively identify and resolve conflicts and prioritize work by engaging with relevant stakeholders

Manage delivery of forecasting capabilities, tools, and models in a timely manner with allocated resources, following data science team's agile way of working (WoW)

Empower a growth mindset and inspire a culture of continual learning that strives for greater quality, efficiency, and innovation, ultimately improving team productivity and work product

Expected span of control (~2-5 employees); in addition to this, participate in selection, talent development and trainings of our employees

Ability to drive various automation efforts to exert efficiency gains within the GCAF team

Required Experience and skills:

Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in computer science, statistics, econometrics, analytics, or a related field or Bachelor of Technology/Pharmacy with PG in advance analytics, business analytics, data science, machine learning or advanced certifications in the related field

7+ years' experience working with Life Sciences companies with 5+ years in advance analytics, business analytics, marketing analytics and/or data analytics function within Commercial or Finance. Proven history (5+ years) of delivery experience in machine learning and deep learning-based projects including computer vision and NLP

Familiarity with Oncology and other key therapeutic areas, concise understanding of patient journey framework, proficiency in pharmaceutical datasets and RWDs

Proven delivery experience of cloud/platform-based analytics (AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, Dataiku, Alteryx or Data robot), simulation development (AnyLogic, MatLab), multiple supervised/unsupervised machine learning projects (clustering, regression, classification, time series analysis) and end-to-end pharmaceutical forecasting/commercial analytics projects is desired

Strong analytical acumen to structure and solution end to end project i.e., collect, measure, organize and analyze data and connect with business needs

Hands on proficiency in statistics and statistical packages in MS Excel, SAS/Python/R/Julia /Spark/Scala to be used for end-to-end delivery and ability to apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets to find solutions

Advanced expertise in data visualization, business intelligence frameworks and/or at least one business intelligence platform (Qliksense/Spotfire/Tableau/MS PowerBI) is must

Proven leadership experience in delivering capabilities transformations, developing real world AI/ML solutions, robotic process automations, simulations, and analytics platforms involving end-to-end pharmaceutical forecasting is strongly recommended

Ability to lead and independently solutioning quick turnaround Adhocs business requests & problems with suitable analytics/simulation/ML/DL methodologies

Solutioning & architecting experience with at least one database (SQL/NoSQL/Graph) and cloud technology (e.g., AWS Sagemaker, GCP, Azure ML), docker will be an added advantage

Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to deliver working individually or in teams

Good working knowledge of technical review and implementing industry standard best practices regarding development/maintenance of coding modules

Strong accountability, problem solving and collaboration skills

Experience leading advance analytics and data science teams with 5+ members

Proven ability to work collaboratively across large & diverse functional teams, and multiple geographies cross cultural teams for a big pharma is a strong plus

An agile mindset and proactiveness to solve problems and expertise in MLOPS framework

Ability to manage ambiguous environments, and to adapt to changing needs of business

Strong communication and project management using JIRA, analytical problem-solving skills, with focus on innovation is a must
