Your Role

To be one of the key members in the team and a point contact for projects with customers. Your mission will be to support the Product companies/Customer centres with high quality services in Supply chain risk management.
Within the Supply chain risk management team you will contribute to execute.

  • Communicate with global suppliers for obtaining SVHC\'s (Substance of Very High Concern) in Atlas Copco Parts/Products for various chemical regulations implemented worldwide which includes but not limited to
  • US Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) on PBT substances
  • Restriction on Hazardous Substances in Electric and Electronic Equipment (RoHS)
  • California Proposition 65
  • EU & UK REACH
  • EU Waste Framework Directive (aka SCIP database)
  • Requests received for HS code classification.
You will be collaborating with local sourcing, engineering and SHEQ colleagues to establish efficient information flow.

Your responsibilities will include the following aspects.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Analyse the technical details like; working principle, functional parameters, materials, etc of parts / products of Atlas Copco parts & provide them correct HS code as per European, Indian, USA & Chinese customs & WTO guidelines.
  • Understand the logic behind The General Rules for the Interpretation (GRI) of the Harmonized System, also known as the General Interpretative Rules (GIR).
  • Perform e-mail campaigns to communicate with the global suppliers for collecting supplier feedback for specific product compliance legislations.
  • Resolve the technical queries/issues raised by the suppliers.
  • Processing & QA checks of incoming supplier declarations.
  • Populate Product Compliance database, keep master files up to date to allow for swift impacted material identification and project follow up.
  • Create & publish declarations of conformity (DoC) for a variety of product compliance legislations on channels available to customer centers.
  • Timely submission of SCIP dossiers to EU authorities on behalf of product companies in scope (for items sold in EU)
  • Keep regulatory certificates and SCIP dossiers up to date.
  • Keep updated with latest/ upcoming developments in the various chemical regulations worldwide.
  • Ensure proper resource planning to deliver effective & efficient resource utilization.
  • Develop, improve, and deliver training to support the technical growth of team. Developing E- learning courses (basic knowledge) and classroom session for advance knowledge
  • Present Updates/ latest technology/ knowledge gained and applied in project as a part of competence development.
  • Drive change by leveraging new technology & innovations to improve overall effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate excellent relationship skills with the ability to collaborate, engage & manage with customer with active involvement of Gecia\'s related business teams.
  • Foster a sense of urgency to implement a customer focused organizational culture and to deliver world class customer service levels.
  • Mentor fellow colleagues
To succeed, you will need

Experience / Knowledge requirements
  • Basics of mechanical & electrical engineering should be clear
  • Able to read & understand engineering drawings, structure of bill of material & supplier\'s catalogues.
  • Proficiency in verbal & written communication in English;
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Outlook; MS Excel proficiency is an advantage;
  • Strong attention to details;
  • Decision making aptitudes based on given guidelines and in ambiguous contexts;
  • Must be comfortable working with large data sets;
  • Very good knowledge and experience in internet navigation and research finding specific information about parts/products in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of BPCS / ERP / SAP is a plus.
Educational requirements:
  • B. E graduate: 4-5 years of experience
