Job Description


Program Management of the Cost Reduction program covering various product lines of agriculture segment, like tractors, engines, transmissions, etc.

PM has to drive the activities of ideas generation, feasibility studies, management approval to further execution till successful implementation of ideas in regular production.

Roles:

PM has to play active role in all the below activities as minimum and not just limited to these to help achieve the targets of cost reduction :

- Channelize the team meetings for generation of new ideas of cost reduction. To reach out to the stated target, the value of ideas to be generated must be 2.5 to 3 times of the target value.

- Organize the Tear-Down Benchmarking with identified competitor machines.

- Coordinate for all the preparatory work required to conduct Tier-down : Involvement of any 3rd party, Identification of space, alignment on competitor models to be taken, time-plan, arrangement of necessary tools, equipment & manpower.

- Projection of budget required to be prepared with help of relevant team members & channelize mgmt approval.

- Coordinate with respective agencies to have the competitor models available in plant premises before tear down to start.

- Conducting workshops in systematic manner involving the related team members for ideas generation & feasibility studies.

- Invoking involvement of team members & stakeholders.

- Organizing work-shops with suppliers with the help of commodity buyers for ideas generation.

- Coordinating for customer clinics if required.

- Managing efficiently the competitor & our machines tier-down, parts display, taking of comparative photographs, weights, important dimensions, specs, etc.

- Coordinating the material testing and other performance parameters checking wherever required for competitor parts.

- Organizing recording of each & every idea with full description, applicable models, initial saving estimate, name/phone of idea giver, etc.

- Channelizing meetings to take up feasibility studies of ideas with different squad team members & all stakeholders.

- Ensuring the squads & CFR team meetings are happening as per the agreed weekly plans with participations from all relevant members. Take attendance and any lag (unless agreed by all) to be highlighted to senior management.

- Ensuring that minutes of meetings are prepared with all important points & agreements captured and released.

- To prepare the presentations of overall status update to senior management on regular basis.

- Coordinate with finance for verification of savings achieved. Facilitate providing back-up information.

- Highlight to senior management for any kind of support required in execution of project from time to time.

PM, while executing all the above roles has to ensure that for any project, there is no by-passing of any of the established process, which could jeopardize the quality of the product in any way.

- Performance Metrics : Value of Ideas implemented against the target within the set timelines.

Qualification:

- Should have past experiences of handling similar projects with cross-functional teams and interfacing with senior management members.

- Analytical skills : Proficiency in excel, power-point & web-based tools.

- Reporting through Superiors : Product Cost Mgmt

- Reporting through Subordinates : Nil

- Required Qualifications : B.E, MBA

- Experience Range : 15~20 years in related industry in Platform / Product Development /Manufacturing / Cost Management / Purchase / Vendor Development functions.

- Knowledge of supplier base

Requirement:

- Proficiency in English

- Proficiency in using the full MS Office package, plus specific job related main sources and systems;

- Available to travel as per requirement;

- Ability to recognise and react appropriately to changing priorities and multicultural environment.

- Working Relationships :

Internal : Senior mgmt. members, Product Cost Team, Engineering, Purchase, Quality, Marketing, Finance (All functions within India team & CNH Global team)

External : Vendors, Auditors, Consultants.
