Roles and Responsibilities About the Role
Electric or mechanical expert engineer leading the electric traction motor platforms developments, withend to end responsibility for the complete product lifecycle: concept, specification, development,validation and industrialization. In-depth knowledge of the complete electric motor: electromagnetic,mechanical, NVH and thermal. A qualified engineer with sound knowledge of automotive design, functionalsafety implementation as well as electric motor manufacturing process.
Responsibilities Lead the development of electric traction motors based on the vehicle specification. Manage the motor development project from concept to industrialization. Propose cost-effective solutions for the vehicle drivetrain platforms ensuring compliance to process checklists for both mechanical and electrical designs. Provide design and quality guidelines for prototypes and industrialization. Review electromagnetic design, mechanical design, NVH behaviour, DFMEA and all process-related milestones for quality assurance. Ensure seamless integration with motor control unit and performance targets.
Lead the definition of electric motor roadmap, strategy and process Ensure that designs and investments meet domestic and global market automotive requirements Participate to the definition of technologies and research flows needed to develop state-of-the-art electric motor and platform derivatives. Investigate new topologies, winding patterns, materials and their suitability for the projects. Identify key suppliers/partners and potential research collaborations.
Support planning and execution of DVP for motor and RCA on failures. Create DVP plan for electric motors together with testing team. Support in definition of required tools and testing infrastructure. Define/improve specification standards for motor designs. Troubleshoot and fix failures from testing activities.
Manage and lead reuse of existing platforms and design resources to help reduce total development time and investments. Implement lessons learnt into designs. Generate and validate a simulation model for existing designs. Carry out benchmarking on competitor components. Define required modularities/scalability concepts to achieve flexibility in motor designs.
