Function Description:
The Internal Acquisitions Vertical within the Central Marketing Organization (CMO) in American Express India Business plays a critical role towards driving portfolio billings and margins by way of driving premiumization, card upgrades, multi-carding and supplementary cards to the existing customer base.
Purpose of the Role:
The candidate will be responsible for heading Internal Acquisitions as a vertical form American Express Banking Corp. This position is a pivotal role in developing and executing an end-to-end Internal Acquisitions strategy for our Consumer Cards Business. This role would lead end to end strategy to cover for the entire acquisitions including implementing marketing initiatives across channels to generate leads and lead a team that drives closures of leads. This role would also be responsible to work in implementing new capabilities and platforms related to Internal Acquisitions and towards implementing initiatives that drive a continuous customer experience improvement. To achieve these goals, result oriented, analytical & logical thinking and customer-oriented mindset are critical.
Job Responsibilities:


  • Deliver on the top of funnel of acquisition strategy through design of product specific interventions and strategies and subsequent design and implementation of multi-channel campaigns and customer communication to drive acquisition objectives.

  • Implement end-to-end initiatives that deliver high conversion rates on top of funnel leads.

  • Implement, own and drive performance through third party acquisition channels.

  • Proactively manage and optimize budget allocation towards key success metrics like new Cards acquired and billed business acquired.

  • Own development and implementation of new capabilities, partnerships and innovations that help drive efficiencies, reduction in cost of acquisitions and better customer experience.

  • Continuously leverage customer insights, marketplace trends, competitive knowledge and portfolio metrics to drive offer design and enhancements.

  • Own and deliver all performance standards are met viz. business targets, controls, and compliance.

  • Manage a high performing team – drive their development and growth.

  • Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders (viz. Brand and Communication, Risk, New Accounts, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Servicing & Account Development teams) to deliver on the goals.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in Marketing/Sales, with 5 years in acquisition marketing / product/ portfolio management in financial services with an MBA preferred

  • Demonstrated success in marketing and marketing strategy roles.

  • Superior analytical skills required; demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into winning strategies and executable plans. Comfort with ambiguity and blue sky thinking.

  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate with external and Internal partners

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.

  • Experience managing multiple partner relationships; accomplished relationship/partner management skills especially key relationships.

  • Proven results and thought leadership to drive optimal results and maximize business opportunities.

  • Knowledge of the Banking/Insurance industry (market trends, economics, regulatory environment)
