Functional Role - Payroll Manager Role Accountability and Performance Requirements Key Duties and Responsibilities Oversees and directs the assigned tower of the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee payrolls while ensuring compliance with labor laws and Income tax. Accountable for coordinating cross-departmental and cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and reliability of payroll transactions. Operations . Leads the specific tower of Payroll teams that execute timely, accurate and efficient Payroll processes for India, aligned with corporate policies and labor laws, incorporating excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. . Ensures the timeliness and accuracy processing of tower specific time and non-time inputs, gross to net pay calculations, bank uploads and paychecks, payroll integrations, employee and Income tax data and reporting . Validates all tower specific Timekeeping and Payroll results ensuring all processes and policies were followed and payroll calculations are accurate and in accordance to labor laws. . Ensures accurate reconciliations and postings of tower specific Payroll transactions in all related general ledger accounts and timely resolution of all discrepancies. . Address and resolve employee, management and government agency inquiries and escalations . Assist with financial analysis, client and statutory audit requirements, government benefits and other compliance activities related in the geography supported. . Ensures that appropriate internal controls are in place and being followed to prevent or detect payroll misstatements or fraud, waste, and or abuse, meet corporate compliance requirements with Sarbanes Oxley Act. . Develops and reports on tower specific quantitative and qualitative performance metrics for all critical tower specific Timekeeping and Payroll areas to measure the effectiveness and accuracy of transactions processed. Business Value . Ensure active participation in Timekeeping and Payroll related system implementation activities, requirements gathering, developing, and testing of new software, systems and functionality. . Consistently reviews, updates and improves Timekeeping and Payroll practices and procedures to ensure that activities follow all laws and regulations, and company policies. . Evaluate and recommend changes to restructure or realign Timekeeping & Payroll processes and/or staff to promote the most effective and efficient operations. People Development . Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations . Keeps abreast of applicable Timekeeping, Payroll and Accounting related policies, procedures, and standards, as applicable and implements appropriate training/procedures to ensure team elite capability. . Stays well-informed of industry standards and practices with a focus on process improvements and automation. . Plans and implements changes to streamline business processes and use of financial systems. . Establishes specific and measurable work plans for subordinates against which they will be measured, and conducts mentoring, guidance and performance evaluations based on these work plans. . Develops and implements knowledge sharing and succession plans. Company Core Values Inspire Others by Believing in Yourself Do More with Less Work Hard Have Fun Exercise Emotional Intelligence Always Strive for Excellence Continuous Self Improvement Teamwork Makes The Dream Work Be Ridiculous Required Behavioral Competence Leadership: Strategic Outlook, Change Management, Negotiating and Influencing and Encouraging Potential Working with Others: Collaboration, Respect for Diversity, Effective Communication, Resilience Achieving Outcomes: Community Focus, Use of Resources, Personal Responsibility, Problem Solving and Decision Making Required Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Math, Business Administration or related field Minimum Twelve (12) years (of the 5) supervisory experience in a payroll environment with demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a large team with complex payroll and accounting related transactions Extensive skills and knowledge in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel, G-Suite Strong leadership, communication and soft skills Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage effectively numerous concurrent projects and tasks in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment Ability to design and proactively improve operational processes as well as delivery of results through influence and cross-functional collaboration Preferred Qualifications Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or similar certification Hands-on experience with different Payroll, Time and Attendance, Human Resources Information Systems, and Payroll Service Providers specifically Oracle HCM, Workday HCM, ADP, Ramco and SAP Payroll Diverse HR and Payroll experience (payroll, operations, benefits, taxation, etc.) Knowledge of Indian statutory payroll requirements and employee taxation and Time and Absence policies.
