Job summary
This position is for Payroll Operational Excellence Manager (OE - PI Manager, Payroll).

The Global Payroll Operational Excellence team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to pull and analyze data with ease, drive process improvements, standardize our processes and eliminate the root cause of defects within the current metric reporting systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a stable team in a huge growth area for Amazon.

An ideal candidate has a background in excellent data dive deep, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to dis-aggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions. This job will require exceptional communication and interpersonal skills while having the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment and exercise sound judgment based on artifacts and data. The successful candidate will be proficient at identifying / solving or escalating data inconsistency challenges, possess a bias to get things done and deliver results while functioning as part of a team. An added expertise on Lean Six Sigma principles to drive process and system improvements will be an advantage. We are a fun loving and diverse team with members in several different countries. We will support local & global projects, processes, systems, and teams

Key job responsibilities
Lead Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt projects for metrics improvement through DMAIC approach
Act as a project manager for small and medium size projects by directing, supporting and coaching project(s) team members and stakeholders and reporting on the project progress and status
Collaborate with payroll operations, payroll upstream teams and technology teams on joint initiatives and reports
Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, deep dive large datasets to uncover trends and identify root causes for performance misses, while ensuring accuracy of data reported out.
Communicate with Stakeholders, in a manner that enables them to have a common understanding of the projects/metrics status, risks, and decision points of system or process changes
Represent Global Payroll OE in local and global meetings/conference call

Payroll Transformation team enables global Payroll operations, support teams and Payroll partner teams in delivering Perfect Pay experience to our customers (employees). We have a team of Program Delivery experts, Project Managers, Change and Portfolio Managers, Lean Six Sigma Black Belts, Business Analysts and Technology experts to enable our customers. We ensure that our customer requests are addressed in time and right methods are used to deliver best in class technology enabled processes. Our aim is to provide sustainable solutions that strengthen payroll growth and deliver a bar raising customer experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels in a matrix organization
Proficiency in using MS-Excel, Minitab, visio, including advanced functions such as importing & exporting data, pivot tables, and macros
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics using Big Data
Minimum 5+ years of Lean Six Sigma project management techniques
Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt - Proficient in lean six sigma tools, such statistics, SPC, hypothesis testing, regression, forecasting, etc.
Proficient in obtaining, organizing, and analyzing data to make fact-based decisions and drive RCA
Demonstrated Project Management experience, including managing a project portfolio, driving a timeline to completion, following-up, organizing multiple action plans within multiple stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

. Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Engineering, Statistics or Business Analytics (preferably in quantitative field).
Overall 8+ years of experience
. 2-3 years of experience in managing and publishing dashboards
Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Advanced degree in Engineering, Statistics, Economics, MS or MBA
Process, manufacturing, or engineering background with an ability to understand process workflow and throughput through the operation
Knowledge of SQL, Power-Bi, Tableau and Python
Demonstrated experience pulling and analyzing data to aid root cause identification and process improvement initiatives across the networ
