Job Description


The role of Manager, Investment Reporting & Analytics is part of AXA XL\xe2\x80\x99s global corporate investment accounting team, comprised of an internationally located team of employees. The successful candidate will have a key role in the accounting close function which includes the preparation, review, and delivery of AXA XL investment-related results for inclusion in the AXA Group Annual Report, other public filings, and analyst materials, as well as internal management reporting.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

\xc2\xb7 Perform monthly investment accounting close activities of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s investment portfolio under IFRS and UK GAAP basis

\xc2\xb7 Prepare and assist with the oversight of the reporting process relating to the investment disclosures, from establishment and adherence to internal timelines through to review and ultimate submission of key deliverables on a quarterly and annual basis.

\xc2\xb7 Perform quarterly reconciliations for Solvency II Pillar III reporting for European subsidiaries

\xc2\xb7 Assist with the application and adoption of new accounting pronouncements impacting investment accounting and disclosures under various GAAPs

\xc2\xb7 Maintain role-relevant internal controls over investment accounting to meet group and local requirements and work with internal and external auditors

\xc2\xb7 Preparation of the note disclosures for the Company\xe2\x80\x99s subsidiaries, as appropriate

\xc2\xb7 Other duties may be assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics from an accredited college or university

\xc2\xb7 Professional accounting designation (CA or equivalent) preferred.

\xc2\xb7 Minimum five years of financial accounting and reporting experience [investment accounting preferred but not required].

\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of investment products including fixed-income securities, equity securities, derivative instruments, and alternative investments preferred

\xc2\xb7 Detailed understanding and practical experience with investment-related financial accounting guidance.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

\xc2\xb7 Must be a self-starter, who can prioritize tasks and work under pressure.

\xc2\xb7 Must be a team player and willing to work extended hours as necessary.

\xc2\xb7 Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to respond to urgent ad hoc requests.

\xc2\xb7 Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and Word is required.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with Oracle EBS, SAP, and/or Hyperion Financial Management would be advantageous.

\xc2\xb7 Good written and spoken communication skills.
