Nature and Scope The job holder is accountable for managing a team of electrical engineers and designers to deliver electrical engineering and designs on projects, support proposal development and support construction & commissioning activities to the respective teams. This role will entail the job holder to perform activities as well guide / mentor other team members. DIMENSIONS
- Responsible for electrical engineering and design of in region projects.
- Based on execution strategies lead the electrical engineering and designs of standard plants in EMEA. Support the same for other global regions
- Responsible for review and approval of corresponding supplier documents
- Manage the workload of the electrical team
- Stakeholder management for the work done for global regions.
- Proposal / Estimation work of electrical works for various opportunities..
- Safety and rigorous adherence to relevant specifications and standards for all electrical designs produced and equipment specified.
- Accountable for the safety and engineering scope adherence in accordance with project specifications & standards.
- Implementation of quality procedures and contribute to continuous implementation of improvement activities.
- Electrical scope definition, estimation & forecasting, planning, review / check / approval, document control and review, scope control and other activities necessary for project execution.
- Effectively communicate by email, ppt or \xe2\x80\x98face to face\xe2\x80\x99 AP\xe2\x80\x99s execution strategies, schedule issues and project requirements.
- Support and contribute to AP\xe2\x80\x99s low cost sourcing activities.
- Preparation of specifications for electrical equipment, vendor offer reviews, VDR reviews, conduct inspections etc including MV and LV systems (motors, switchgear, UPS, battery charger, DG sets, Bus Duct, PDCs etc)
- Accountability for issuing our layout drawings (earthing, power, lighting); work with designers for ensuring layouts are completed and compilation of an electrical construction package.
- Conduct stage and final inspections for electrical equipment to ensure that equipment is manufactured as per AP specs and quality requirements.
- Provide support to construction and commissioning teams during installation and startup of electrical equipment.
- Interface with various stakeholders of project management, procurement, customer, vendors, construction teams etc to resolve all issues pertaining to electrical system on the project.
- Lead and manage a team of 10-12 electrical members.
- Have the ability to self perform activities as well as undertake check and approval of documents generated by team.
- An Electrical Engineering Degree with 18-20 years of industry experience and preferably corporate membership or professional institute membership
- Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills
- Experience comparable with the grade in a relevant industry.
- Must be familiar with an engineering organization, the function of each discipline and how they interact and the function of the various support groups globally.
- Experience to generate and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Equipment Specifications, Calculations, Protection Studies and all relevant Electrical deliverables.
- Experience with calculation software such as ETAP and SKM Powertools
- Knowledge and experience of plant layouts and model review meetings
- Experience and knowledge to effectively communicate issues and ideas effectively.
- Value engineering, strong vendor interface and abreast of latest design developments in electrical field.
- Ability to manage a team of people; provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team.
