Job Description


Your Responsibilities Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with all customs laws, regulations, and procedures related to import and export activities. Stay updated with changes in customs regulations and communicate relevant updates to the organization & external stake owners. Import/Export Documentation: Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of customs documentation such as import/export declarations, licenses, permits, certificates of origin, and other required documentation. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission. Customs Classification: coordinate for the correct classification of goods according to customs tariff codes (HS codes) with Trade Compliance team & Business Unit SCM Managers. Manage the customs tariff database. Ensure accurate and consistent application of customs classifications for proper duty and tax assessment. Customs Valuation: Ensure proper valuation of goods for customs purposes, including determination of customs value, transfer pricing, and related-party transactions. Apply valuation methodologies in accordance with customs regulations. Customs Duty and Tax Management: Monitor and manage customs duty and tax payments, exemptions, and preferential trade agreements. Optimize duty and tax costs through duty drawback, duty deferral, or other customs programs. Customs Audits and Investigations: Coordinate and manage customs audits, investigations, and compliance reviews. Respond to inquiries, provide necessary documentation, and resolve any issues or discrepancies identified by customs authorities. Customs Risk Management: Develop and implement customs risk management strategies to identify and mitigate risks associated with customs compliance, trade fraud, smuggling, or prohibited items. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective risk mitigation measures. Customs Broker and Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with customs brokers, freight for-warders, Transporters and other service providers. Ensure their compliance with customs regulations and monitor their performance and service quality. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams (such as procurement, logistics, finance) to ensure smooth import/export operations. Liaise with customs authorities, government agencies, and in-dustry associations to stay informed about customs-related developments and participate in relevant forums or committees. Performance Reporting and Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for cus-toms operations. Prepare regular reports on customs activities, compliance status, and performance metrics. Identify areas for improvement, propose solutions, and implement process enhancements. Your Background: Bachelor\'s degree in international trade, supply chain management, customs, or any related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist) are advantageous. In-depth knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and procedures for both Import & Exports. Proven experience in customs operations, import/export compliance, or related roles. Strong understanding of customs documentation, classification, valuation, and duty/tax management. Familiarity with customs automation systems and software. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of international trade agreements, customs risk management, and trade facilitation initiatives is a plus. Hands on experience on various Microsoft tools & SAP Applications. Strong Planning & customs Skills. Minimum 8 years of experience in customs & Trade operations in Transport, Trade, Logistics. Good influencing skills and stakeholder management. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Experience in customs, foreign trade, logistics, finance, planning or procurement. Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Excellent analytical skills with the capability to transform data into actionable plans. Fluent in English in a MUST, other languages are a plus. Flexibility to travel 10%.
