Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility of Accounts Function of India Office including
o Checking all the accounting records before it is posted to the general ledger
o Preparation, reviewing the financial statements & accounts schedules on a monthly basis
o Maintenance of up-to-date fixed assets register to enable accurate calculation of monthly and annual depreciation
o Coaching and guiding the subordinates
  • Managing and supporting Doha Tax team in managing statutory companies:
o Comply with DGFT requirements for claiming incentives
o FEMA related compliances and corporate law compliances such filing of FLA return, Annual Returns under the Companies Act, Board & Annual General Meeting preparation: Notice, Agenda and Minutes
o Tax compliances filing of quarterly TDS returns, GST returns, GST refund, IT Returns, Professional tax return, transfer pricing returns and provide all support Statutory/Tax/ Transfer Pricing/Internal Audit etc.
o Ensure remittance taxes such as TDS, GST, Income tax, professional tax etc., within deadline
o Closely work with Doha tax team on any change in tax or regulatory law impacting the company
  • Manage Receivables and Payables
  • Review, monitor and ensure accuracy in portage bills, month-end reports, reconcile opening and closing balances of portage bills and coordinate with head office for the crew salary payment
  • Ensure accurate payments for Income tax, Union Fee, Provident fund, SWFS and other government related compliance and within due dates/time limits specified. Ensure no loss or penalty to the company
  • Provide month-end/quarterly reports within time specified to Head Office
  • Calculation and payment of Salary and benefits for India operations
  • Support Ship Management team and Finance/Tax team (Doha) in all queries raised
  • Ensure documentation on KYC of Directors and other Secretarial compliance
  • Liaise with Statutory Auditors/Tax Auditors/Company Secretary on above matters
  • Manage third party data compilation for reporting and invoicing
  • Ensure compliance with relevant internal controls within the Finance and Accounting function and any deviation or non-compliance is communicated to the seniors for appropriate action
  • Provide assistance and inputs to the budget/forecast preparation process
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned



Qualifications
Education & Professional Qualification:
- Chartered Accountant from ICAI
  • Any Degree/Post graduation
Professional Experience:
- Above 5 years, 2 - 3 years preferably in a Shipping Industry
Geographic Experience:
- India (must)
Computer Skills:
- MS Excel, MS Word, Oracle (preferred)
Language Skills:
- English is a must, Hindi
Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:
- Shipping Industry and GST/TDS/IT
