Job Description

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing logistics activities in a manner that shall meet business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction. The position is responsible for collecting and communicating all necessary information related to upcoming and ongoing shipments, projects, and services as well as providing logistics support, consulting, and obtaining the best possible transportation rates.

Responsibilities:

• Plan demand and supply at OEMs of steel tower and rotor blade transport fixtures
• Plan and track logistics (transports, container packing, etc.) of transport fixtures (focus: for steel towers, for rotor blades) and clients Installation Tools
• Organize return transports of fixtures or tools from project site or port to origin - coordinate external port operators and site teams
• Monitor and optimize the fixture inventory globally
• Organize the fixture maintenance, refurbishment, and modification
• Organize temporary and/or permanent import/export of fixtures and tools - cooperate with Customs Support Team and external customs brokers
• Setup and maintain annual expense and investment plans, track and communicate return logistics cost
• Prepare capital expense requests and get approvals
• Identify and translate improvement actions to reduce logistics costs and cycle times
• Initiate and support fixture tender
• Request Purchase Orders for fixtures and applicable services
• Measure fixture KPIs (e.g. utilization time)
• Maintain fixture quality documents

• Relevant work experience in logistics-related functions with a focus on closed-loop supply chains,
• warehousing, and especially on reverse logistics or container logistics
• Completed vocational training in logistics-related subjects (e.g. forwarding agent, export merchant) or with logistics focus or university degree in the logistics-related subject to demonstrate an applicable logistics knowledge base
• Technical expertise to understand transport fixture design details and support transport fixture design changes
• Proven knowledge of import/export matters for temporary import/export base
• Strong and structured focus on cost management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to gather and analyze data
• Clear thinking mindset to understand complex situations and act adequately
• Self-confident and persistent characteristics for investment requests and claim management
• High communication skills with the ability to work with and report to global, cross-functional, and external contacts
