Job Description



This position is part of the Global Operations IT team supporting the Manufacturing, Distribution & Logistics business functions and related systems. This includes Level 2 support for systems such as Oracle Enterprise 9.0, SAP 4.7, Manhattan WMOS 2010, DSI dcLINK 7.7/MEP 9.0, DSI Cloud Inventory, QAD Precision v9, Baan/BridgLogix and others. In addition to ERPs, WMS and TMS systems, this team is also responsible for Dev Ops for Control Tower, Machine Automation and Robotic Process Automation initiatives. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to contribute in all aspects of the SDLC process, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing and support.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and/or lead requirements and design discussions
  • Document system requirements and system design artifacts including flow/sequence diagrams
  • Manage enhancements and small project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget and quality
  • Participate in Practical Process Improvement Kaizen events representing Logistics IT
  • Partner with business analysts and architects on technical design and coordinate development work with vendors as well as internal development teams
  • Coordinate changes requiring infrastructure team involvement
  • Configure ERP, TMS and WMS systems to meet business requirements
  • Develop unix shell scripts as well as database stored procedures, triggers, and sequences
  • Develop SCI (Cognos) reports using SQL and business model
  • Develop and manage DSI MEP and DSI CIP applications, integrations and web services
  • Create and execute test scripts, capture defects, verify fixes and report updates
  • Coordinate and perform functional, end-to-end regression, load testing and smoke testing
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify problems and develop practical solutions
  • Follow change management processes and present change requests at review meetings
  • Develop training material and train business users on new system functionality and/or changes
  • Maintain and administer system server infrastructure and logical environments
  • Delivery and support of incident/break/fix and production support
  • Actively participate in Major Incident Management (MIM) calls and Post-Mortem Reviews
  • Gather and effectively use data to deliver continuous improvement
  • Mentor junior resources and contribute to knowledge repository
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, MIS or another technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT with end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) related activities and deliverables
  • 3-5 years of system analyst or technical developer experience with either Manhattan WMOS, DSI dcLink/MEP, Oracle Enterprise One (E1) or substantially similar system
  • 2-3 years of experience with technologies and processing environments used to support the Pick, Pack, Ship (PPS) process, such as Warehouse Mgmt, Transportation Mgmt and Order Mgmt systems; experience with Precision/Trax is also preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with Integration technologies and systems, such as XML, webMethods or Oracle Fusion Middleware (OFM)
  • 2-3 years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL, including stored procedures/trigger development
  • 1-2 years of experience with reporting tools, such as IBM Cognos
  • 1-2 years of experience working with and supporting machine automation systems, such conveyors, print and apply applicators, in-line weigh scales, and case sealers
  • Ability to travel up to 25% international and domestic travel, when it is deemed safe to resume
Preferred experience
  • Prior experience working in the Biotech / Medical / Pharmaceutical industry
  • Prior experience with Unix and Windows system administration
  • Familiarity with HP Quality Center for defect tracking & reporting
  • Familiarity with testing tools - Quick Test Pro (QTP)
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise One (E1) 9.0, QAD Precision/TRAX, Manhattan WMOS 2010/2018, DSI dcLink 7.7/MEP 9.0, DSI Cloud Inventory
  • Familiarity with Barcoding, RF Scanners and/or Conveyer integration
  • Familiarity with Cognos 8 Reporting Tool
  • Knowledge of FDA guidelines for Software Quality and Systems Validation
  • Solid organizational skills (especially as they relate to data collection and reporting), a multi-tasking style and project management approach
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, ability to develop and maintain business/technical documentation, and robust interpersonal and analytical skills required
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and a rapidly changing environment
  • Able to articulate solution options such as using configuration versus developing enhancements
  • Competent in handling multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and frequently demonstrates initiative by going "above and beyond" performing what is required for the position
  • Demonstrates creativity to develop and implement innovative, thought provoking, "out of the box" solutions and changes, rather than just incremental improvements
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and implement a proposed solution and discover risks and propose mitigation strategies or configuration solutions
