: Indian Sous Chef

Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced and skilled Indian Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As an Indian Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in our restaurant\'s kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of authentic Indian dishes. Your passion for Indian cuisine, creativity, and leadership abilities will contribute to the success of our culinary operations.

Responsibilities: * Assisting the Head Chef in planning and designing Indian menus, ensuring a balance of traditional and innovative dishes.

  • Overseeing the daily kitchen operations and ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest quality standards.
  • Managing and coordinating kitchen staff, including delegation of tasks, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Demonstrating a mastery of Indian cooking techniques, utilizing a variety of ingredients and spices to create authentic flavors.
  • Monitoring food stocks and placing orders for necessary ingredients, ensuring adequate supplies are available for smooth kitchen operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop new recipes and dishes, showcasing creativity and culinary expertise.
  • Participating in food tasting sessions and providing feedback for menu improvements.
  • Maintaining accurate records of food production, wastage, and costs to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets and cost analysis for food production.
  • Supervising the plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring they meet our restaurant\'s standards for aesthetics and taste.
  • Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrating versatility and adaptability to cater to different dietary preferences and special requests from guests.
  • Staying updated with the latest trends in Indian cuisine and incorporating new techniques and ingredients into the menu.
Requirements: * Proven experience as an Indian Sous Chef or similar role in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
  • Demonstrated creativity in developing new and exciting Indian dishes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail to ensure precision in food preparation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of efficiency during busy service periods.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Culinary degree or certification in Indian cuisine is a plus.
  • A passion for food and a desire to constantly improve and innovate.
