Job Description


Target identification and validation for new drug targets in Immunology/ Inflammation areas in biology. Leading group of scientists for on-going internal and clients-related projects in the respective therapeutic area. Providing strong scientific and technical leadership in the design, execution, analysis and interpretation of a broad range of assays, elucidate mechanism of action at the molecular and cellular level, and understand disease biology. Providing cross functional co-ordination leadership to the respective scientific platforms for preclinical screening and lead optimization, characterization of novel chemical entities as potential candidates for development. Managing the development and optimization of animal models for respective therapeutic area. Highlighting the pathophysiology of the disease, rationale of the animal model, methodology summarizing the observations results of multidisciplinary research groups, for internal communications and Various SOPs. Evaluating the mechanism of action of new NCEs and clinical drugs. Serving as a project leader on a late discovery program and responsible to drive program from hit-to-lead-to-IND Independent assay development and validation. Undertaking new assays development for Projects. Managing drug discovery in Biology from target selection to clinical candidate selection. Highlighting and summarizing the observations results of multidisciplinary research groups, for internal communications and Various SOPs. Supporting the Biology Head in their various aspects such as building biology capabilities, and other functional initiatives that span across the organization from the Discovery Biology perspective. Supporting for implementing guidelines for good lab practices in biology, building and expanding biology capabilities including new technology. Mentoring junior scientists, team management and writing scientific reports, SOPs, and manuscripts. Leading a team of 4-5 scientists involved in Identifying novel targets for respective Therapeutic areas and target validation. Manage the team and supporting the discovery projects and troubleshooting the Biology related problems during drug discovery. Mentoring juniors to train them for ongoing in vitro studies and research technologies. Guiding the people/team on planning and execution of work and SOP writing.
