Job Description


The Apps Support Senior Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval. Responsibilities: Review and manage a list of close to 21 out-of-compliance applications and take them through the proper onboarding, application support & compliance setups, including SSO/MFA, EERS, VA Testing and CART (Cloud Architecture Review). Prior experience at Citi (App Management or Support and / or Compliance) will be very helpful in this space Builds a strong local team for Application Management and Support, embracing Citi leadership standards Drives Operational Excellence particularly in area of Application Management, support, and VA support, making sure that Risk & Compliance dashboards come out clean for all the applications managed by your/your team (Global Benefits) Supports process maturity and operations management (App Support) by standardizing the best practices through documentation, presentation, training, and periodic skill assessment of the app managers Provide a holistic view of the production environment working closely as a trusted partner with Production Assurance and Infrastructure teams. Performs controlled resolution of incidents and problems including prioritization and escalation to relevant groups when appropriate, root cause analysis of all problems with follow-through to resolution. Consults with the primary clients of the application in order to understand the strategic objectives of business. Must demonstrate sound understanding of data retention and regulations like GDPR Builds competency to remediate compliance and quality issues reported for On-premise / SaaS Benefit application and during VA testing Champion stability initiatives to enable application high availability for Business-As-Usual which includes better monitoring, failover, and resiliency Drives Annual Vulnerability Assessment (VA) for a pool of applications, forming needed governance, procedures, and practices. Ability to handle incidents, problems and change at a global enterprise level. Calm and analytical when faced with major incidents on critical systems. Exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information with inherent confidence with operations and technology partners on a regional or global basis. Focus on people development, evaluating subordinates\' performance and making decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions and deputize for the regional support manager. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. Invests in preparing presentations to the Senior Management (and Business team) to report on progress of legitimizing the out-of-compliance applications and overall operational efficiency related to application Support (and managing the related risk & compliance) Ability to define and execute on a strategic roadmap to consolidate & streamline the applications (and vendors) in the benefits taxonomy to make it leaner, efficient, and more cost-effective in the long run. Qualifications: Good understanding and knowledge of Application Support, DevOps, Secure SDLC, Vulnerability testing life cycle. Good experience in overseeing data services, testing, operations management, people management (geographically distributed team) Sound understanding of Project management with awareness for Agile Methodologies like Agile, Kanban 12-15 years\' experience in an Apps Support role would be an added advantage, but not essential. Prior experience at Citi and exposure to CSI, CTC, PTS, iCAPs (Citi Systems) will be helpful Experience with people management of 3-7 people team essential Experience dealing with vendors (Third Party) - Communication, Negotiation and Execution of projects will be a definite plus Exposure to SAAS application support model will required Prior exposure to software vulnerability testing would be a definitive plus. Highly assertive communications skills, commanding personality. Ability to engage a large audience and lead the discussion with clear, articulate, and highly assertive communication. Must show confidence in all communications Effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholder Ability to negotiate and build consensus to bring together diverse teams towards a common objective.
