About the role
The successful candidate will manage the India payroll activities end to end and be based in Hyderabad(India). The key component of the role is to pay our employees correctly and on time with the focus on process improvement, consistency and documentation. We are looking for a strong leader with excellent communication skills. The role is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll manager who wants to make a difference within our company, who wants to raise the bar for the payroll team, be the spider in the web and set the team up for success.

This is a high profile area within Amazon and requires a manager with the ability to improve our customer experience.

Key job responsibilities
Drives execution of vision and goals for the team.
Responsible for developing and communicating team on department vision and goals.
Significant role in career development of the team.
Significantly participates in recruiting efforts. Continually raises the bar.
Is expected to set and improve policies and procedures, maintaining full compliance, implementing best practices.
Serve as a consultant or lead payroll projects for continuous process improvement of the process.
This position will also act as an escalation point in resolving complex outstanding issues with internal and external business partners.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of management experience and must have managed large teams (15+) across multiple locations.
Flexible to lead the teams located in multiple location
Ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment and interest in supporting a global team.
Experience developing, improving and implementing processes in large-scale, complex environments.
Ability to handle responsibilities independently, while exercising good judgment in problem solving and keeping team members adequately informed.
Excellent written and verbal skills as well as prioritization and planning skills - with strong attention to detail.
Well-honed analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics including return on investment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.Com/MBA and Certification in India Payroll processing, PMP or Six Sigma
  • Used to work in a metrics driven organization
  • Experience working with SOX compliance
  • Ensure compliance with India local legislation, tax and PF etc.,
  • Liaise with key stakeholders for procedural changes
  • Maintaining and influencing the relationships with key internal and external partners
  • High sense of controllership
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
