Want to be a part of our team The Director, Facilities Construction is a leadership role, responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, design, construction, and management of data centre facilities within NTT Ltd. This role plays a critical role in ensuring that data centre infrastructure aligns with the organisation\'s objectives, meets industry standards, and supports the delivery of IT services efficiently and reliably. This leadership role is accountable for leading a team of constructions professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on achieving operational excellence. Working at NTT Key Roles and Responsibilities: Develop and implement a strategic plan for data centre facilities that aligns with the organization\'s IT and business objectives. This includes capacity planning, expansion strategies, and technology roadmaps. Provide strategic leadership and direction to data centre construction projects, from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Allocate and manage resources, including budgets, personnel, contractors, and equipment, to support data centre construction projects globally. Review and approve data centre facility designs, ensuring they meet operational, security, scalability, and sustainability requirements. Collaborate with architects and engineers. Manage and monitor budgets for data centre construction projects, tracking expenditures and optimizing costs. Report on financial performance to senior leadership. Identify potential risks related to data centre construction projects and develop comprehensive risk mitigation strategies. Proactively address issues that may impact project success. Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure that construction work adheres to design specifications and industry standards. Conduct inspections and audits. Ensure that data centre construction projects comply with local, national, and international regulations, codes, and industry standards. Select, negotiate with, and manage external vendors, suppliers, and construction contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements and timelines. Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership to align data centre construction projects with overall business goals and priorities. Provide regular updates on project status and milestones. Promote and enforce safety protocols, environmental responsibility, and sustainability practices in data centre construction projects. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Uses extensive knowledge across functional areas to direct the application of existing policies and principles and guide the development of new policies and ideas across the function Leads, integrates and directs work applying substantial practical expertise across function disciplines Solutions are devised based on limited information and issues that are occasionally complex and fundamental principles and data may be in conflict In-depth knowledge of data centre facilities, infrastructure, best practices, and emerging trends in the data centre industry Understanding of electrical systems, HVAC, cooling technologies, networking, and security systems relevant to data centre construction Strong financial acumen, budgeting skills, and experience managing large construction project budgets Proven leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams and large-scale construction projects Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration, stakeholder management, and reporting to senior leadership Experience managing construction projects across different regions and familiarity with international regulations and standards Commitment to staying updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in data centre construction Academic Qualifications and Certifications: Bachelor\'s degree pr equivalent in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related Advanced degree in business (MBA) or engineering is advantageous Certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) is advantageous Required Experience: Significant experience in project management methodologies, tools, and practices Significant management and leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams and large-scale construction projects Skills Summary Budget Management, Construction Project Management, Leadership, Quality Assurance (QA), Resource Management, Strategy Plan What will make you a good fit for the role Workplace type: On-site Working Equal Opportunity Employer NTT is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer with a global culture that embraces diversity.
