Provides overall management direction to substantial construction projects such as data center construction, facilities upgrades, communication site construction (telecom), photovoltaic power plants (solar), wireless telecommunications towers, poles and equipment shelters. Accountable to deliver finished project, meeting objectives defined by delivery schedule, budget compliance and adherence to workplace policies. Serves as company liaison with client contacts as well as contracted construction resources. Provides administrative direction to on-site construction manager(s). Ensures that all applicable codes, standards, and good construction practices are followed. May manage multiple smaller projects or serve as top on-site manager for a single large, extensive project. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

The Construction Project Management role is a people management role and has the primary responsibility of overseeing the effective management of construction and fit-out projects to ensure successful, in budget and on-time delivery of these projects. This responsibility will include overseeing the planning, management, financial and change control as well as internal and external coordination of project activities.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and executing assigned construction projects including pre-construction, construction and post construction phases.
  • Manage project delays and activities that may result in delays, e.g., unsafe practices.
  • Prepare, update and maintain the project directory, risk register and project execution plan during the project term.
  • Ensures all construction plans and material specification are approved by the client to facilitate the implementation of assigned projects.
  • Review and approve project schedules as aligned to client requirements and NTT program and standards.
  • Ensures that all project information checklists, pre-planned tools and documentation is complete.
  • Schedules and conducts pre-construction meetings with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Ensures that all target requirements per contract and building guidelines are completed, e.g., insurance risk, construction plans, etc.
  • Monitor the implementation services from securing permits until project closure, including project site mobilisation, scheduling of units with all approved sub-contractors, implementation of construction plans, quality of materials used, etc.
  • Conduct project site meetings to establish project issues / risks and document and report approach and resolutions.
  • Manage the environmental, health and safety programs for project sites, including assignment of safety guidelines, contracting toolbox meetings and safety orientation.
  • Prepare weekly project reports that includes relevant information on project dependencies, issues, escalation and schedules.
  • Ensures project completion milestones are met within contract provisions and prepare accurate statement of accounts settlement.
  • Tracks and validates that all scope of work by sub-contractors are complete and quality is assured to avoid any client concerns during punch listing and hand-over.
  • Reviews the plans and value engineering of each project.
  • Manages and prepares all necessary hand-over documentation and checklist, such as built plans, agreement specification and manuals, warranty certificates, etc.
  • Manages and ensures all project requirements are met and a sign-off of Certificate of Completion is produced.
  • Ensure all relevant project documentation such as regulatory permits are submitted to client for project financial closure.
  • Lead and manage a team of project managers and/or coordinators to ensure projects are delivered against client requirements.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • Relevant professional certifications
Required experience:
  • Solid experience in construction project management
  • Estimating experience
  • Experience working with MS Projects and/or related project management software
  • Experience with design/build, pricing and equipment productivity, derivation of labor rates, etc
  • Prior demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of project managers and / or coordinators
