Who We Are Girl Effect is an international non-profit that builds media that girls want, trust and need. From chatbots to chat shows, TV dramas to tech, our content helps adolescent girls in Africa and Asia make choices and changes in their lives. We create safe spaces for girls, sharing facts and answering questions about health, nutrition, education, and relationships, empowering girls with the skills to negotiate and redefine what they are told is possible \'for a girl\'. Our reach is 50 million and counting. And we\'re using technology to reach girls at scale so every girl can choose to be in control of her body, her health, her learning and her livelihood. Because when a girl unlocks her power to make different choices that change her life, it inspires others to do so too. She starts a ripple effect that impacts her family, community, and country. That\'s the Girl Effect. Girl Effect in India Girl Effect uses a branded media approach toward delivering behavioral change programmes. In India, Girl Effect\'s flagship brand - Chhaa Jaa, uses digital content and interactions through chatbots, digital communities, and campaigns to help girls take charge of their present and future health and income choices. Over the last four years, we have invested in setting up key online assets and infrastructure that can be leveraged to deliver programmes under a range of thematics for older adolescent girls. We have built a multi-product digital ecosystem of products - across \'broadcast\' and \'interactive\' features - that are social media-based and available to girls whenever they need it. This includes: Inspiring and enabling social and behavior-change content on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube A chatbot on Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp that allows girls to explore taboo topics in a safe 1:1 space and nudges them to connect her with health services. And a website aggregating youth-friendly services and is updated regularly with blog content. A girls-only Facebook group to experience social support and a sense of community Context of the role Girl Effect is looking for someone to lead the design and delivery of content, products, and branded experiences for adolescent girls and young women in Hindi-speaking India (to begin with, with the potential to expand into other regions and languages in the future). We are also building products and content to influence their parents towards enabling healthier choices for their daughters. The role will report directly to the Country Director at Girl Effect and require in-depth collaboration both with internal technical experts and functions, as well as best-in-class designers, filmmakers, technologists, content creators, and producers in India\'s ever-evolving media landscape. The Creative Lead delivers a brand experience that millions of adolescent girls and young women from vulnerable backgrounds want, love, and need when it comes to their health and skilling choices. This is a remote role with a 24-month full-time contract role reporting to the Country Director with travel up to 30% of the time for a short period. What You Will Do Creative Strategy & Consumer Insights: Building on and evolving innovative ways in which to create and deliver content and product experiences that will deliver on the goals of Chhaa Jaa and other India brands and overall country strategy In-depth understanding of our audience - their mind space, desires, aspirations, ambitions, roadblocks, and obstacles from all possible sources, including field research. Generating insights and applying them to our content to dial up relevance and relatability and thus create higher stickiness for the content and products Working closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure we meaningfully reach and grow our audiences and meet campaign objectives Understanding the learnings and data presented by the Impact team and working with the Programme team and technical experts to improve Chhaa Jaa\'s creative products and content basis this - being a key part of the MERL (monitoring, evaluation, and learning) process Owning the annual budget for creative delivery in India - supporting the Country Director in yearly budget creation, forecasts, and changes Working closely with our safeguarding team to ensure safeguarding measures and youth participation efforts are integrated into the production process and/or the product campaign Analyze brand tracking, market trends, consumer needs, and the competitor landscape Campaign Planning & Content Creation: Overseeing the Brand, Content, and Product creation process for India - working with technical experts and creators both in-house and outsourced to build the brand, create scripts, casting ideas, frameworks, and treatment designs. Figuring out the right production models and bringing together the right creative team individuals and/or agencies), onboarding them, and working with them to deliver campaigns on budget and on time Working with the team to ensure that engaging, strategically relevant content is regularly being developed and delivered across all the decided touchpoints - mass and social media, communities, offline integrations, chatbot, etc - weekly, monthly, and annual content calendar design and delivery Closely monitor, track, and analyse all key channel health indicators on a regular basis - engagement metrics as well as financial parameters. Work with country leadership to strategize in future-forward plans and annual operating plans for all channels and products Team Management: Set up robust processes and business practices to ensure smooth operations within the function Working with your team for procurement and/or tender processes for external content creators and producers Ensuring timeline management of the entire production process is done in a way that all stakeholders are sighted and that pressure on delivery is minimized Capability building of teams, hiring, retention, succession plan, timely goal setting, routine feedback, appraisal, and recognition. Drive motivation & continuous improvement Work Experience & Education Minimum 8-12 years of experience in Creative Strategy. Digital content production is important to have. The candidate must demonstrate a track record of success in programming strategy, consumer insights, and business planning within the media and entertainment sector Relevant experience in creative strategy in an agency or corporate setting Experience in creating marketing/advertising campaigns - from developing the vision and messaging platform to overseeing production on time and within budget 5+ years of experience directly managing members of creative teams, helping them bring concepts to life, refining and evolving them Strong interest and knowledge about content and trends across digital, movies, TV, series, short and long-form content An excellent portfolio that demonstrates deep integrated thinking and strong brand-building capabilities, with an emphasis on video content Ability to interact meaningfully with people of diverse backgrounds, personalities, and expertise (e.g., subject matter expert in Kenya and creative executive in Mumbai and legal department in London), backed by data when possible Strong working relationships within the Indian creative community Knowledge of the digital video landscape, including a solid understanding of digital video distribution technologies Should be excited by technology and exploring content through products like chatbots, communities, blogs, etc. Ability to juggle multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment while delivering outstanding results What Else You Should Know As we continue to scale and grow - we are hugely ambitious for our future, and we are looking for people who are driven to change the world for girls.
