About Team:

Division L&H Business Management are responsible for the management of the inforce business within the L&H Reinsurance Business Unit. SVD Operations and Projects team is part of Global Actuarial with objective to partner with regional valuations teams on activities around Swiss Solvency Test reporting, monitoring of remote risk transactions etc.

Position objectives and position summary :

  • SVD Operations and Projects team supports parametrisation (Model point, assumptions, cashflows etc.) for Internal capital assessment model (ICAM) for SST & Solvency II reporting
  • Remote Risk Transactions - The team is responsible for the on-going monitoring of the remote risk transactions within Life & Health portfolio and produce various senior management reports. The team is also involved in reviewing, analysing and obtaining internal sign-off for any changes initiated by the client on treaty terms and conditions
  • Head\'s-up log: Early Warning System for senior leadership i.e. Ensure all material risks to the balance sheet are understood, document, enhancing transparency and reported to senior management. Where necessary, remedial action is planned and implemented based on steering for management
  • Governance activities regarding End User Applications management, Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
  • Operational Excellence includes process optimization, supporting digital transformation along with enhanced analytics & insights
Given importance of above tasks and activities spanning across global valuation, Finance and Risk management teams, candidate will gain new challenges and exposure of working with senior BM leaders on key reporting activities.

Main tasks/activities/responsibilities :
  • Quarterly monitoring and reporting of the Remote Risk Transactions
  • Planning & Coordination for ICAM submission including quarterly gross-up\'s
  • Coordination with all regional valuation teams to obtain appropriate cashflows, validation, performing reverse engineered assumption to support feed for ICAM model which covers for 8 Swiss Re branches split by mortality, critical-Illness, longevity and disability income line of businesses
  • Coordination with Risk management stakeholders as part of ICAM submission which is pivotal for SST and solvency II reporting requirements.
  • Reporting HU (Heads-up) consolidation on a monthly basis and provide various onwards reporting to LH BM stakeholders (LH BM division head, GRC, external auditors and Finance). This activity helps to project the potential volatilities in the financial numbers of L&H Reinsurance
  • Monitoring of various End User Application (EUA) used in LH BM processes
  • Support risk governance through RCSA reporting
  • Performing review of Annual Data Quality Assessments conducted by regional teams to determine quality of data being used in valuation of our L&H liabilities
  • Support centralized valuation related activities within LH BM
  • Other Ad hoc projects enhancing the shareholder value in conjunction with the Regional Partners based in London
About You :
  • At least 5+ years of experience in the Reinsurance domain.
  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Actuarial Science or Statistics with good progress towards actuarial qualification
  • Knowledge about Life & Health products & reinsurance value chain
  • Reporting knowledge of Income statement and Balance sheet across different basis
  • Ability to understand and enhance life & health valuations system landscape
  • Ability to drive and manage a motivated team
  • Excellent coordination, communication and design thinking skills
  • Ability to access, identify and report risk matrix.
  • Ability to implement & improvise operational excellence
  • Strong data organization and analysis skills.
  • Project management skills would be an added advantage.
  • Strong working exposure of MS Excel and PowerPoint. MS Access and VBA would be an additional plus.
