Working in a fast-paced and a rapidly evolving team, the Bidding Associate is involved in the creative assessment of potential new projects, up to award for Technicolor's VFX brands MPC Episodic, MPC Film and MR.X. Under the oversight of the Bidding Producers and EP, Business Development, the Bidding associate will work across multiple projects and learn how to analyse scripts, VFX breakdowns and other materials in order to provide competitive packages to our clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Shadow Bidding Producers/EP in their work assessing projects.
  • Review all materials received from clients and creatively assess and bid the work required to complete a project.
  • Compile first pass assessment of projects for review with Bidding Producer/EP on larger projects.
  • Attend consultations with VFX supervisors and Head of Departments on creative, technical approaches, and methodologies as needed.
  • Attend client meetings when possible and take notes of key information pertaining to bid methodology.
  • Develop understanding the industry cost structures and how this effects creative assessment.
  • Stay current of studio capacity and talent capabilities and develop understanding of how to effectively apply this to bids.
  • Attend handover meetings for awarded shows.
Qualifications

Other areas of training and development to include but not limited to:

o Advance knowledge and understanding of VFX pipeline

o Required Technology development

o Methodology discussions with sups

o Client liaison

o Preparation for client discussions with Sups

o Preparation of financial proposals

o P&L reviews

o Strategy

Experience

o Previous experience in features and episodic VFX

o Entry level understanding of VFX vendor pipeline

o Detail orientated

o Goal driven

o Highly motivated working within a fast-paced environment

o Working knowledge of Excel.
