We seek an Associate Counsel \xe2\x80\x93 Data Protection to join our global legal team in our Bangalore, India office. Our legal team reviews contracts, advises the firm on matters of legal consequence, and proactively assesses and manages the firm\xe2\x80\x99s risk exposure. The legal team is responsible for staying abreast of legal developments impacting the firm on a global basis and then advising the firm based on the changing legal landscape.


Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts, including technology agreements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on interdisciplinary initiatives such as vendor due diligence.
  • Respond to issues as they arise in diverse matters affecting day-to-day business operations by assisting, advising, investigating, researching, and resolving legal matters.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in privacy laws of the APAC region and guide various functions within the organization.
  • Collaborate with others on the legal team and within ZS when subject matter expertise is required.
  • Ensure the firm\xe2\x80\x99s compliance with legal policies, state and federal laws, and regulations.
  • Identify potential legal issues related to proposed transactions.
  • Participate in structuring and negotiating transactions and set procedures to reduce risk.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Law (LL.B or LL.M) with strong academic background required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in law firm or industry.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Motivation, personal initiative, and strong team/interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytic skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Proven attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for global collaboration and Experience negotiating agreements.
  • Ability to manage and complete long-term projects independently.
