The Role Responsibilities

Job Role

Support to the Head Risk Measurement and Product owner and wider RAA team to measure the overall levels of risk exposure vs risk appetite across the bank. Risk Measurement consists of various risk assessments and risk appetite workstreams across FCC and Compliance PRT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Well versed with Industry best practices and other regulatory bodies / Wolfsberg; FATF, etc.
  • Knowledge on thread-based risk assessment; risk insights and deep dives / analytical expertise.
  • Knowledge on client risk, product risk, country risk, industry risk, other risk assessment workstreams.
  • Own the Process / product to deliver the Risk Measurement activities especially strengthening the methodology, support in designing the new methodology, ensure its execution in accordance with regulatory and industry expectations. This includes working closely with Risk Identification and Response teams, plus other stakeholders, to ensure that the necessary risk information is available.
  • Perform targeted deep dive reviews and thematic analysis.
  • Contribute to business strategic decision making.
  • Be point of contact to 2 / 3LOD stakeholders for RAA as a product owner for Risk Measurement.
  • Lead strategic risk initiatives Independently and in a group drive strategic risk initiatives, targeted deep dive reviews and thematic analysis to completion.
  • Support Risk Identification workstream proactively.
  • Support regulatory interaction, particularly in relation to requests for information.
Strategy

Own the FCC Risk Measurement methodologies, reporting and oversight. In conjunction with others in the team, ensure the necessary information / data is available and collected for the FCC RA. Maintain necessary documentation and approvals.

Business
  • Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability and integrity, providing timely, responsive and quality CFCC related advice and guidance to enable the business and functions to meet/ achieve their strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Regular and diarised catch ups with all key business and functional stakeholders.
Processes
  • Act as Process Owner / product owner delegate for the CFCC RA \xe2\x80\x93 risk measurement workstream.
  • Ensure the process / product is followed and executed correctly, including control execution and testing.
  • Own the Operational risk and exam management relevant to the workstream.
People and Talent
  • Lead, develop and train the Risk Measurement team and GBS support.
  • Act as SME on Risk Measurements and EWRA matters across the RAA team.

  • Maintain all DOIs and Guidance notes are update to date. \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare Agenda for Risk Committees.

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Lead the Risk Response team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles: [Financial Crime Compliance]
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key Stakeholders
  • Other product leads in the RAA team - Risk Identification and Data and Analytical team.
  • Heads of FCC sub-risk types, Policy owners and SMEs.
  • Regional / Country Heads of FCC.
  • Group Internal Audit department, in region and CFCC Assurance.
  • Regulatory interaction as appropriate.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10 years of experience Financial Crime and Compliance experience.
  • Preference given to individuals who have Senior FCC and Compliance or similar experience.
  • Many years of experience working in similar or equivalent roles in an international financial institution / in international locations.
  • Member of recognised Financial Crime certification schemes such as ACAMS is desirable
  • Knowledge of the organization\'s industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to create, implement, evaluate and enhance processes in internal controls.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.
  • Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products, and services.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques used to identify actual and potential hazards or loss exposures; ability to evaluate the risks according to processes and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of collaborative techniques and approaches; ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement and working together across functions to solve business problems and meet business goals.
Analytical Skill
  • Analyse comprehensive impact of FCC and Compliance related regulatory matters which has impact in SCB through quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Support relevant stakeholders to make decisions based on current and possible future practices, and trends.
  • Keep track of and provide advice to relevant stakeholders on the interpretation and application of regulatory expectations, emerging risks best practices and policies related to FCC and compliance.
