Job Role

The role will identify and analyse potential risk exposures and maintain and document criteria for CFCC Risk Assessments.

It includes proposing methods to identify threats and assessing effectiveness of the control framework in mitigating these through the analysis and testing of inputs from various sources.

The Associate Director, Risk Identification, CFCC RAA will report directly to the Head, Risk Identification, CFCC. You are a team player and in partnership with the RAA function will develop insight products that drive action across the bank.

Key responsibilities include

  • Use data analytics to identify and escalate risk exposures.
  • Support RAA on strategic risk initiatives and thematic analysis.
  • Maintain and document criteria for CFCC Risk Assessments.
  • Propose methods and interventions to increase the effectiveness of the control framework in mitigating threats and risks.
  • Monitor the mitigation of priority risks.
  • Present results of risk insight products to give recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Be point of contact to RAA and 2 / 3LOD stakeholders for Risk Identification.
Strategy
  • Responsible to work with other members of the FCC functions and wider CFCC community to identify risks across the Bank and drive appropriate action.
  • Responsible for the support and execution of reviews on a periodic / scheduled basis, preparation of reports and presentations as to findings, observations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
Business
  • Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability and integrity, providing timely, responsive and quality CFCC related advice and guidance to enable the business and functions to meet/ achieve their strategic tactical objectives.
  • Act as SME on RAA Risk Identification related matters.
Processes
  • Analyse comprehensive impact of financial crime and Compliance related regulatory matters which has impact in SCB through quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Keep track of and provide advice to relevant stakeholders on the interpretation and application of regulatory expectations, emerging risks best practices and policies related to FCC and compliance.

  • Ability to work with colleagues at all levels and from different spectrums to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Flair with presentation to large audience and communicating ideas clearly in a project capacity from beginning to end with desired results.

  • Managing day to day tasks within the team by ensuring active communication and collaboration among the team members and stakeholders.

  • Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility.

  • Knowledge of and experience with CFCC policy and standards.

  • Support RAA to achieve the outcomes set out in the RAA target state approaches.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate and support to mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 5 years of Financial Crime and /or Compliance or risk assessment experience in a large financial institution.
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data in a particular department or division of a company.
  • Ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement and working together across functions to solve business problems and meet business goals.
  • Well versed with tools and techniques of analyzing potential risk exposures; ability to utilize these to determine coverage.
  • Ability to think beyond status quo and work well with employees across a diverse range of functional groups.
  • Knowledge of and experience with CFCC policy and standards.
  • Experience with big data application, systems and platforms.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of CFCC function and its day to day management
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques of analyzing potential risk exposures; ability to utilize these to determine coverage
